Note From Hiyami: Yes, yes, I know- why the hell am I posting it when it's Esgal's story, right? Well, quite honestly, he asked me to. ^_^ YES, he wrote it, but I went over it for some grammatical and numerical orders and posted up for him~ ^_^ So no biting me over it, OK? So happy to see he's more literate than he led me to believe~ Not an insult, ne?

Chapter 1
The Meeting
"Dear 'Ivan,
Hiya~!~!~! This is an invitation letter, just so you know, 'kayyy?
You're officially invited to the first Fire Emblem Wars meeting! It's at a beach house, just like me and Grondy had always planned. Isn't that great?!
The beach house lies near some cliffs on this really cool island off the southwestern coast!
The beach house is really, really big, with loads of windows and rooms. It's almost like a mansion itself! We even have a private beach below the cliffs, where we can swim and play and have barbeque too!
Bring bathing clothes and anything else you think you might be needing on a trip like this. We're going to have a great time, partying and talking and playing and swimming and everything else as well!
During the 10th of July to the 5th of August, come to the beach house that I managed to buy. It'll be really cool! Follow the directions provided on the other paper you get in this letter to find it, got it?

Ivan took another look at the letter he had recieved, then folded it and put it into his backpack. Instead, he took out the directions from his pocket, and briefly skimmed through it. He felt his eye twitch slightly. He hadn't done any mistakes at all following the . He took his eyes of the scrap of paper, and looked at the house in front of him. It did say the beach house was really, really big but...
This was too much, even for him.
The house had three floors. A ground floor, probably with the kitchen with dining tables, the living room, a bathroom and a few bed rooms. The second floor probably was the place where most of the bed rooms were. He had no idea what was on the top floor, maybe some sort of pool room?
The building had a main building that ran across horizontally from his viewpoint, and then two side buildings that was connected to the sides of the big building, leaving a courtyard in the middle of the three sections. Windows covered every wall, each decorated with some flowers. The door in the middle of the big building was smaller than he expected, not to mention less flashy. It was a normal wooden door with an ordinary door knob. It had a large metal plate and a brass lion head above it, probably made for knocking. Stepping up to the door, he grabbed the handle in the lion's head and used it to knock the door. Loud thuds rang in the air as he gave the door a beating. When no one answered the door, he opened it to yell if anyone were there.
He wished he hadn't.
The moment his head peeked through the opening he faced the chest of a person dressed almost entirely in pink. The person squealed in a sharp tone, then proceeded to almost break his neck in a steadfast grapple. "G-gack!" was all he managed to get out, before the voice yelled out, making his voice fade out. "Ivy! You came! You really came! Oooh, this makes me so happyyyyyy~!" the voice said, in a clear female way. There was only one girl he knew that could sound like that.
Sara.
Ivan gasped for air, motioning towards his throat, hoping she would get the point right away. Her hold didn't ease at first, as she looked cluelessly at him. When she finally got it, she let go of him, blushing furiously. "S-sorry! I get a bit too excited, and can't contain myself for some reason! I didn't mean to hug you that hard!"
"H-hey, if that's how you hug, I don't want to know how you strangle people." he said blatantly, correcting his glasses which had almost fallen off his nose in his struggle with the girl who was way stronger than she looked like. She giggled excitedly at him. "Oh come on, Ivy, don't be so grumpyyy~! Come, everyone's waiting in the loungeeee~!" She said, then took Ivan's arm and tugged him away from the door.
Wow. She tried to wave away her attempt to kill with a giggle and a tug at the arm. And she was damn good at it too.
"Wait. Did you say lounge?"
"Yup, sure did~! Turns out this place used to be a small hotel! Their business didn't go too well, though, so they had to sell it. I got it pretty cheap, too!"
"I don't think I want to know how cheap..." Ivan said, looking at her questionably. She ignored him however, and showed him into the lounge.
In the lounge a whole bunch of teenagers were chatting, generally having a good time. They seemed to enjoy themselves, which was what they all had come there for, after all. Sara clapped her hands in a way to get attention, and everyone in the room turned their faces towards her. "Listen up everyone! Guess who's here? Ivy decided to come as well!"
Cheers filled the room, as well with some brief greetings such as "Nice to meet you Ivan!", "How ya doing you Thailander?" and stuff like that. Ivan smiled broadly, waving to the group, like some royalty waving to her people. "What are you waiting for?" Sara said to him, "Go sit down in the sofas!"
Ivan stayed in the opening to the lounge. "But...what about my-..."
"Luggage? I'll take care of that, sir." a polite, monotone and scary voice said into his ear. "GYAAAAAH!" Ivan yelled, jumping from surprise at the person that had crept up to him. Quickly turning around he faced a person dressed in a white buttoned shirt and a red vest along with a black costume. The person was wearing white gloves, and had a very curt aura of mannerism about him. The person took Ivan's backpack and wandered out of the room and up the stairs to the second floor.
"W-who was that?" Ivan said, still not out of the shock the person had given him.
"Who? Oh. That was Tony, the butler." Sara said, not surprised at all.
Tony the butler? Hang on a sec.
"Tony? You mean...as in UB?!"
"Yep. Don't mind him. He needed some extra money, so he signed up as the butler."
"Don't mind him? The guy gave me a friggin' heart attack!"
"Don't worry about it. Sit down! Enjoy yourself!"
Ivan sighed, and waltzed into the room, finding an open space in one of the couches. In the three-seat couch, a couple, presumably Puff and Kakashi, were cuddling with eachother, saying incomprehensible love phrases one after eachother. For a moment, he was wondering if he could sit down next to the couple, considering what they were doing. He finally figured they probably wouldn't mind if he sat down, they seemed absorbed enough by eachother to even notice if he sat down in the far-right part of the couch..
The moment he sat down, he felt an extreme pressure from somewhere in the room. It felt like, what do you call it...a killing intent. At first, he sort of panicked, before he turned to his left, facing the stares-of-death from two lovers who refused to get interrupted in their confessions of love. Instantly standing up, he quickly walked away from them, only to see them returning to their past, lovey-dovey cuddling. The thought struck him that anyone who had sat down in that sofa had recieved the same stare, which was why the spot was still open.
There was roughly three 5-seat sofas and three 3-seat sofas, all places around two tables. Every seat was taken except for the one next to Kakashi and Puff, everyone chatting idly with eachother. When he spoke with Sara over the phone, he heard 30 people had answered her letter that they were coming. That meant that there were 7 people without a place to sit at the moment. Sara and To-...UB obviously weren't sitting down, Sara was busy running around talking to everyone, UB had carried bags all day, and would probably continue to do it until everyone was there. There were 2 others in the room that weren't sitting down, one being the person he suspected to be Strike, and the other would probably be Evesgallion. Strike was standing in a corner close to the couches, throwing in his point in an argument every once in a while to the people sitting around the 5-seat sofa table. Eves was standing near the 3-seat sofa table, not doing much else than listening, but he didn't even try to sit down in the open spot, probably due to the trauma one could suffer from there.
Three people weren't in that room. He'd be able to recognise Karn right away, but he wasn't there, so he probably hadn't come yet. A girl was missing, and since every girl in that room was reasonably tall, the one missing would probably be Kurai. Then there's was a guy that weren't there yet...
Ah.
"Where's Obi-...sorry, Esgal? I heard from Sara he was one of the first guys to arrive." Ivan asked to no one in particular. Pondy was the person who answered him.
"Well, I'm not sure, but I think Sara said he was exhausted from his ride, so he's been sleeping somewhere since he got here.
That would be expected. Sweden is a long way from the West Coast. Ivan would've had a long way to travel too if he had started in Thailand, but his family had gone to the US, so he didn't have to go that far. How long could it take from Sweden to here...6 to 8 hours?
There was another knock on the door, followed with the opening of the door, a girlish squeal, a second girlish squeal and Sara exclaiming "Kurai! You came! You really came! Oooh, this makes me so happyyyyyy~!"
Silence spread across the room. To break it, Ivan finally said "Does she greet everyone that way?"
Everyone in the room nodded in agreement, confirming that Sara had it as a standard greeting phrase.
A moment later, Sara entered the lounge again, this time with Kurai in tow. "Everyone! Say hello to Kurai!" she shouted, followed with a respone similar to the one Ivan got. She waved politely at them while smiling. "Now the only one we're waiting for it Karn." Sara said triumphantly, as if she had accomplished something.
"Actually..." Kurai started quietly, not sure how to continue for some reason, only to go completely silent. "Actually what, baby? Speak up, we can't hear you!" Kyrillos blurted out. Kurai stared at him a little, before speaking up again. "Karn is waiting outside. We arrived with the same ferry."
"Then why didn't he come with you?" Kaden asked the question probably everyone was thinking of.
"Well...he said he couldn't enter yet..."
"What? Why couldn't he come in?" Kojiro said, standing up from the couch he was sitting in.
"I don't know...but he's always been a bit like that, right?" Kurai said, scratching her cheek a little with her index finger. Ivan looked at his digital watch. The time was 13:36. 2 pm was the time they all were supposed to be there if they could. Did that mean...that Karn was actually thinking of waiting outside until 2 pm exactly before going in? The theory seemed reasonable, Karn seemed to be someone who went after instructions exactly. "I dun' care what his reason is!" Reyde complained as he stood up as well. "I'm going out to get him."
The time turned over to 13:37. Then the door opened, and Karn walked into the lounge. "I let myself in." he said quickly in a monotone voice as everyone in the room stared at him. N-no way...he was only waiting so he could enter at 13:37? Now that's a robot with an ego to boot.
Sara didn't even go to squeal and snap Karn's neck like she did with everyone else. She was probably slighted at that Karn went in without her opening the door for him. "N-nice to meet you, Karn." Lionheart said, obviously slightly intimidated by the presence of a human robot. "Greetings are unnecessary." Karn said promptly. Uwaah, cold.
Sara's face shone up again with a smile. "Well, now that everyone's here, I think we should start doing what we came here for! Let's go to the beach! Everyone, change into bathing gear!"
A cheer erupted from everyone in the room (well, apart from Karn, of course). It was probably for this reason most people had come. The hot weather was enjoyable, a bit warmer than usual, but not so that one could complain about how it was too hot, and if they did, it was perfect for swimming weather.
"Then I will go wake up Mr. Esgal then." UB said, as he produced a megaphone from seemingly nowhere and went up the stairs. Hm, Ivan hadn't even seen him come down from the stairs. Wait, megaphone?
A sharp noise was heard from upstairs, clearly a sound from the megaphone, followed by a scream of surprise. "MUGYEEE! Gruaaaargh! Tony! Esgal Skill #7, Wake Up Headbutt!", further followed by something wooden sounding like it got broken. It then was quiet for a few moments, before UB walked down the stairs. "I have woken up Mr. Esgal."
Woken up? More like tormenting a sleeping person.
Everyone had now gathered at the base of the stairs. They were probably going up to change, but were now anxiously waiting for Esgal to come down. They heard footsteps from above, and then the face of a sleep-deprived teenager who seemed to have gone through dozens of life threatening situation in the last 10 seconds. He slowly walked down the stairs, until he was at the ground floor. Turning towards them, his face looked even more like that of someone who had been dead for 10 years.
"Z-z-z-zombie!" a few from the group yelled at the sight of the person. For some seconds, Esgal stood there as if he hadn't heard anything, but then he squatted down in a nearby corner, knees to his chest, mumbling depressing stuff. Was Ivan seeing things, or did the air around Esgal turn...grey?
"U-um...hi, Esgal." Lades said, who had arrived at the beach house after Esgal had fallen asleep. Esgal stood up again, scratching the back oh his head as he smiled sheepishly. "Ahaha. I'm not mad. Hello, everyone. I'm Esgalginion." Didn't everyone know that already?
"Why were you up there sleeping?" Hiyami said with an undertone of naïvety. Esgal's eyes suddenly got a sharp gaze, god knows for what reason. "I...guess I could tell you. First of all, I had been flying for 8 hours, inbetween two passengers who snored, so I couldn't get any sleep whatsoever on the flight. Then after I landed, I noticed I had gotten the directions wrong, so I ended up about 40 miles away from here, so I had to hitch-hike. I walked for a long time before I managed to get a lift by a really nice family. We had a nice little chat during the way, until they asked where I came from. When they heard I came from Sweden, they dropped me off in the middle of the road! Can you believe that?!" Esgal rattled on quickly to get the story over with.
"W-why did they do that?" one of the newcomers to the forum, Ursula, asked.
"Huh? Oh, they were from WBC."
"WBC? World Boxing Council?" Durendal asked, obviously the person most into boxing.
"Uh, no. Google it if you have the time, will ya? Anyways, so, after getting another lift after a while, I managed to arrive here 4 hours ago after travelling for 14 hours." Esgal finished. "Uh, nevermind about that, we're off to the beach? Give me a minute and I'll get ready." he said, then walked off somewhere.
Everyone in that room felt some sort of pity for the Swede now( apart from Karn, of course), but didn't pay it more heed than that. They all walked off towards their respective rooms, getting ready for the beach.
"Ah, Ivan, here." Sara said, and gave him a key along with a piece of paper. "This is your room key, check on the paper here to see what room is yours and where it is."
Ivan took the paper and read it.

Ivan wondered why they were divided into pairs except for UB and Sara, but for the moment, he went to the room he had been assigned, looking at the map he had been provided with. Every room on the map had two numbers to them. After thinking about it, that meant that those with those members were room mates. Going by the list, that meant that it was Ivan and Strike together, then. Stuffing the paper into his pocket, he went to his room where UB had left Ivan's bags.
Meanwhile...
"Um...Sara?"
Sara turned around, facing Esgal. "Hi Martin! What do you need?"
"Well...you just gave me this paper, and I noticed that we're divided into pairs."
"Yes...yes, that's right. Why?"
"Well..." the Swede said to her, as he looked down on the paper. "Why am I paired up with Hiyami? Isn't that..."
Silence. Then Sara snatched the paper from Esgal's hands, and quickly checked it. What the...she could've swore she had written Esgal as 20 and Puff as 30. Fuming, she immediatly crossed his and Puff's name over, and wrote their names on the right places. "Here." she said, red in the face, as she handed it over to him. A brief thanks was all he said, then he turned heel and went to his new room.
Damn that Tony, for messing it up. It was all his fault for mixing those numbers up! That's what she told herself, anyways. Satisfied with finding the culprit, she figured it was time to get changed as well.The truth was that it indeed was her that had mixed the numbers up somehow, but it is of her nature to tell herself that she can't do anything wrong. And as such, in the end, she starts to believe it wasn't her fault to begin with. But that's a secret, okay?
"W-what are you doing?!" Puff screamed at the top of her lungs.
"I'm getting changed." Karn stated, completely unaffected by her scream.
"I can see that! But why when I am here?!"
"I'm not disturbed by members of the opposite gender seeing my body without clothes."
"BUT I GET DISTURBED ABOUT SEEING YOU NAKED!" she yelled louder than before, blushing like madly and covering her eyes. Why did she end up in the same room as an exhibitionist?!
A quiet knock was heard on the door. "Puff? Are you in here?" a voice on the other side was heard. Quickly opening the door, she found herself face to face with Esgal. "Umm...I came to tell you there was a mix-up, and you're supposed to be in the same room as Hiyam-..." Not letting him finish, she had already taken her bags and exited the room. Then she shook his hand with both of hers, repeatedly saying "thank you" about 10 tens before turning heel and walk towards Hiyami's room.
Esgal entered his new room. "Hey Karn. What's wrong with her?"
"I don't know. The opposite gender still hasn't been fully explored." Karn said, now changed into his bathing boxers.
"Hm. Right." Esgal said, then closed the door.

There's the complete chapter one. No one dies here, the thrill starts by next chapter! I'm not sure you'll fully enjoy this first chapter, but I had pretty fun writing it. Hopefully, you'll have fun reading it too. |

... Wow. I'm slightly offended. When you said you were going to use that letter as a base, I thought you would change like a few words. You did make me out to be a squealy fangirl. :P
And what's the with the "I never think I'm wrong" thing? :P
By the way, sweetie, I only own two pink shirts. No pants/skirts/any-kind-of-bottoms. :P

Guys, it's just the first chapter. How do you expect me to mash in 30 people with important roles in just one chapter?
And if you haven't noticed yet, the numbers are for the rn you die on. It has no deeper meaning about who you live with. That's mostly just the order you signed up in.
