first impressions
Full Name: Amy Vaughn
Nicknames: None
Age: 19
Occupation: None
Face Claim: Emmy Rossum
Story/Role: Original

I like the gown very much and
my Mother thinks it very ugly.
Eyes: Amy has amber brown eyes of an average shape and size, with long dark lashes.
Hair: Her hair is a lovely chocolatey brown color, luxurious and smooth and falling in curls down past her waist. She takes very good care of it, and prefers to wear it up in an elegant bun with curls coming out when in society, and loose when in the comfort of her own home.
Build: Amy is statuesque and slim, well built for her age. She is five feet and four inches tall.
Extra: To Amy's dismay, she has a very large mouth (literally-look at her smile). A girl once told her that her mouth was large and ugly when she was about seven, and she has been annoyed with its size ever since.

I cannot speak well enough to
be unintelligible.
Likes: Singing, dancing, reading, horseback riding, playing pianoforte.
Dislikes: Being treated as a lesser being, mushrooms, pretentious snobs, insults to her loved ones, and spiders.
Goals: Amy wants to marry for love, and the fact that her parents are well off and that she is the older of their two daughters does not help. She also wishes to travel around the world.
Personality Traits: Amy is determined, and she will argue a point until you see her side if she feels you to be very much in the wrong. She was rather indulged as a child, and while she has not turned out spoiled and snobbish, it has given her a strong will. She is steadfastly loyal to her true friends, and will become exceedingly angered if one of them is hurt or slighted in some way by anyone. She is also very intelligent for a woman of the times, as she grew up reading and trailing along after her two older brothers when they visited from school. She is also, to her brothers' amusement, a secret hopeless romantic. She adores happily ever afters, although the typical ideal of a heroic knight in shining armor does not appeal to her-she always liked the villains better. They were more interesting, after all.

your affection gives
me the highest pleasure.
Father: Richard Vaughn (age 48)
Mother: Jane Vaughn (age 46)
Siblings: Raiford Vaughn (age 24, nicknamed Rafe), Christopher Vaughn (age 22, nicknamed Kit), Sylvia Vaughn (age 14, nicknamed Vee)
Other: None (as of yet)
History: Amy is her parents third child, and the older of their two daughters. She was born in their country home on June 26th, a spring day full of warmth and beauty. Her mother was a strong woman, and although Amy's birth was hard, she survived it and recovered fully, even bearing a fourth child, Sylvia, five years later. Amy grew up surrounded by love and very much indulged by her parents, older brothers, and the household staff. The only one who was not overly indulgent was her governess, Miss Kelley, a strict young Irishwoman who taught her young charge much before she left to marry a lawyer. Although she was a skillful teacher, and Amy blossomed under her tutelage, she was glad to be rid of the governess, preferring to follow her brothers around and make them teach her all the exciting things they had learned whilst away at school. She tagged along after them constantly, begging to be included in whatever they did. It was Rafe and Kit who taught young Amy to ride, and they sparked in her a keen love of horses and riding. She and her younger sister, Sylvia, did not get along as well as she and the boys did, for Sylvia would not settle disputes with fist fights and horse races. Kit and Rafe were perfectly willing to settle things that way, and she did not see why Sylvia wasn't. But as she grew older she grew less wild, and forgot fist fights. She and Sylvia became friends around the time she was 17. From the start she was intrigued by far off lands and other cultures, a passion her parents dealt with by purchasing many, many books for her to read, hoping to satisfy her longing for adventure and the unknown. It appeared to have worked, for by the time she was 16 Amy was very well mannered in society, well versed in etiquette, and charming to be around. What her parents did not realize until later was that she was merely concealing her adventurous longings behind a ladylike exterior, and she was still very much the same girl she had been before. She matured and calmed slightly in the following few years, but is still a lively, intelligent, determined young woman.

I must write on till I am.
