guidelines
guidelines are yet to be formalised.
however, basically roughly thus...
even though everyone can be a dick sometimes, please, do try not to be. be smart, dont say or do anything that will get you or the site in trouble.
do excersize your freedom of speech well. we prefer if you excersize it really well, but even if you are squandering it, at least you're making use of it. please dont attempt to suppress the freedom of thought and speech of others.
there are no "moderators" here as such. you are expected to be able to work out your differences amicably. we like win-win scenarios, and any scenario can be made to be win-win for all. if we acted like the ultimate and only resolver of differences, we'd be robbing you of important life experiences there to teach you how to do that for yourself. it's your responsibility.
if you do produce the most mundane drivel, please dont be offended if others ask it be moved to the trivial city, or if it just appears there someday. this is somewhat unlikely though. do not fear posting whatever you like, wherever you like though. the founders of the gaudiepod just thought this would be a good idea to keep this on reserve incase someone or something starts to bore the crap outta folks. ;)
if you produce the most horrendous acts of violent 'flaming', your post, or the thread may find it'self in the despicable city. this is our "sin bin", "shark tank", "pandoras box", "no holds barred" area. feel free to be very irate and angry about this, so long as you keep it in the despicable city. ;)
you can request a forum section of your own here... just ask somewhere, and the admin will make it so. This may be useful to you if there's some broad area not covered in other forum sections you'd like to discuss, or if you want a nice little place of your own without the spyware of a "social networking service", or even if you have something you want to sell, promote or plug, this is a nice way of letting you do that, without gagging you, and without letting the rest of the forum get clogged up with sales pitch. but its your forum section, you can do with it what you like. set your own rules. (within reason. there are some extremes we're uncomfortable letting you use our site as a soapbox to advocate.)
If you are a member of the "trusted" group, though you have the powers of a moderator, you are asked by the admin not to use them, except as per the guidance you'll receive regarding your "moderator powers".
