You're something beautiful A contradiction
Lily desperately wanted to protect her ever-reddening face behind her hands, but her pride wouldn’t allow her to admit defeat. His grin—broad and genuine—captured her attention so raptly that she was afraid to look at it. Instead, she focused her emerald eyes on a spot in the center of the table, fixing them there with all of her will, refusing to hide or be lost to his smile.
“No!” she squeaked, and wondered when in her life her voice had ever been so high before. “We—They talked about you. Sometimes. But not as much as Black. When I got mad at you, they’d try to—you know, to defend you. Because . . . Well, Mary’s absolutely in love with you. And the rest of them don’t want to say anything bad about Black’s best friend. And, well—,” she shook her head, still refusing to look at him.
“I, uh, don’t think anyone ever mentioned your, er, ‘cute buns o’ steel.’ You might want to point them out when we get back to school.”

You Will be
No. Nonononononono. Lily Evans was not blushing for James Potter. Fire was not spreading from his finger tips, turning her face so deep a red that it was almost purple and the slight pain turned into a burning so hot she could almost hear flames crackling in her ringing ears. She'd never been more embarassed, she decided, because she didn't really get embarassed. Insults and compliments alike rolled easily off her slender shoulders.
But this, this was different. She--admittedly, not without his help--had boxed herself into a corner and her Gryffindor fighting instinct was a little hampered by the fact that her heart was beating so loudly it was deafening. His piercing gaze--which she met at once with determination, and then quickly fled from, her eyes fixing themselves on his forearms, which did not exactly help--was so forcefully interrogating that she forgot the answer to whatever he was asking. She forgot how to breathe.
"Don't," she murmured airily, her eyelashes heavy as though she were sleeping, her swat at his arm gentle, almost dream-like. She jerked her chin away and was flooded with relief and regret that confused her so greatly she felt sort of nausiated. "Don't touch me, Potter."

Yeah, you Will be
Funny, Lily thought, her mind suddenly removed from her body by the jolt of electricty that shot through her core at his words. She could see her reactions, know that she was behaving like an idiot, and yet she could not seem to control herself. It was as though her rationality had abandoned the rest of her to fend for herself. It was seemed to be rapidly progressing towards a bad habit these days.
"I--" she attempted to protest, then became transfixed by the idea. Lily leaned forward, brushing her fingers against his deceptively delicate cheekbones, and then sat back, watching him intently. Her fingertips buzzed with molten fire; surely he had to feel the way it burned when they collided.
She closed her eyes, shook herself. She was behaving stupidly. With jerky movements, she forced herself to stand and take their trays back to the counter, fighting the urge to look back over her shoulder. When she returned, her eyes were steadfastly downcast. "I should be getting home."

So taste it
James did not mind at all that Lily was being irrational. He was being rather daring himself, considering the rules and regulations he had previously given himself. Though, the night before, he had seemed to thrown all of those out of the window anyway. And now that he was with her, all of the cheesy pick-up lines and flattery would not be of any help.
Acting like himself seemed to help a lot, though.
He froze as her fingertips brushed his face, his eyes wide in astonishment. And he thought that he had been acting out—she was a regular daredevil. He beamed at her, blinking several times in an attempt to clear his mind. It didn’t work.
And then she had walked to the counter, and back to him, and he was too dazzled to argue with her. He stood up, fingers brushing her hair behind her ear as he leaned down to whisper in it.
“Okay. I’ll see you later, love.” He didn’t wait around to see what happened, instead slipping out of the muggle restaurant that he had been so enthusiastic about just a few moments ago, and apparating home at the first chance that he got.
And we will never be alone
