HOUSES && HOMES

So, I took Alana back home last night. For anyone who didn't know, she came to stay with me for two weeks, during which time we put the site up together. My house feels so empty without her. It makes me sad inside.

However, without her here, I no longer feel the need to provide entertainment, so the site should be in full swing from now on. We are currently working on finding the most efficient way to handle applications. I believe we'll probably put one specific admin in chage of making houses, etc., soon enough, as well.

As I type this--well, not literally, but in a manner of speaking--I'm working on a school schedule for the site. Students should be returning to Hogwarts sometime within the next couple weeks or so--I'd like to get a few more members before that time.

Also, with the return to school there is, of course, the Start of Term Feast and--well, if you knew what that meant, I wouldn't have to tell you. All feasts and other school-wide events are excellent places to roleplay with people you wouldn't normally interact with. They're also a really brilliant place for competitions--with prizes for the winners, of course--to crop up . . . Though I'm not giving anything away just yet.

I'll post the schedule just as soon as I get it okayed by Kiba and Alana. I'll also be working on a new weekly poll. Until then, keep checking back for more updates.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

A new section has been added to the rules page. Members are expected to read and obey this section just as they would any other, effective immediately.

Remember that, while adding rules is just as frustrating for us as it is for you, we will continue to do so (possibly without warning) as it becomes necessary.

A COUPLE OF CONTESTS !

In order to increase activity and membership on our beloved site, the admins have invented a couple of contests. The best part? We have prizes.

NEWS CONTEST
So easy, anyone can do it--and should! To participate, all you have to do is read the news.

• PM Jazzi as soon as you read this post to get your name on the list.
• Starting today, every news post will contain a secret phrase. It will remain up until it is replaced by the next news post.
• PM Jazzi the daily phrase every day when you read the news.
• PM 5 phrases to get your name on the list in the trophy room.
• PM 10 phrases to get your name underlined on the list in the trophy room.
• PM 15 phrases to get a custom member title (up to five words that will appear under your username) and your name bolded on the list in the trophy room.


REFERRAL CONTEST
ends september 10

Tells your friends about us.

• A new category has been opened in OOC. Have the people you referred post there when they join.
• Once their application has been accepted, a point will be added beside your name on the list.
• The three (3) members with the most points at the end of August will be considered the winners.
• Administrators are not eligable to participate.

First Prize: Your name on a list in the trophy room, increased storage space in your PM box, the password to the Room of Requirement, plus the September award for services to the school.

The results of last (the) week's poll are in. Prefects will chosen by members of their own (key) house.

This week's poll has to do with (words) GSW hosting a community event. If we were to open our OOC boards to people from (will) other sites, what sort of event (be) do you think we should have? There are (in) a number of choices. You may also post (parenthesis.) suggestions.

Due to the lack of younger members on our site and the fact that most, if not all, character plots contain at least slightly mature elements, the site rating has been upgraded to mature. While we do ask that you be curteous and polite in all of our out of character threads, we no longer require you to post a warning in roleplays containing mature content.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the new rating system, feel free to PM an admin. And, as always, try not to abuse this new freedom--this is haven for mature, quality roleplayers, not simply a forum for cyber sex.
