These sub plots have been written by the admin (claireyfairy, fionaaa and taylor!) for anyone to participate in! Sub plots are a great way to throw yourself right into the action and keep active, so if you feel like getting involved in an awesome sub plot, go ahead to the sign up thread HERE

Below are each of the sub plots that we've come up with so far. We may add more over time, so keep your eyes open.

Details such as character ages, personalities and names have been left for the roleplayer to decide. The sub plot itself will be a good indication of what the character may be like as well as their age, so please bare that in mind when you make the character.

SUB PLOT ONE.

you know you love me

__ female has always had a crush on __ male. Too bad she'd never really brought up the nerve to talk to him. Ever since preschool, she'd been dreaming of their wedding, all the little kiddies they would have together. __ female already had all the names picked out. But why didn't she ever do anything about it? Well, to everyone else, he was way too far out of her league. Not to mention the fact that she was extremely shy, and even more dorky. He was a-list, and she was, well, z-list. It didn't help that before the start of last summer, she stood at about 5'1, was slightly overweight, and had glasses and braces. Poor thing. She wasn't exactly the type to be gracing the gossip girl homepage anytime soon. He was on the football team, seemed to have a different girlfriend every week, and to be perfectly honest, everyone loved him. Well, except his ex-girlfriends, that is.

But now, everything has changed for __ female. She's still as socially awkward as ever, but now she's actually pretty. Shock, horror! There were even reports of her getting her nose done by the same doctor that did Jennifer Aniston's (the one that hadn't messed it up). Not that it was the truth. Instead, she'd grown about 6 inches, had her braces removed, and got contact lenses. It was a miracle. It was no surprise when at the beginning of the school year, she caught everyone's attention, even __male. Suddenly, she was invited to all the parties, and all those popular girls were actually talking to her. Tt was sort of overwhelming for her, to say the least. She just couldn't handle it. Her new pretty face and skinny body would only keep her popular for a short amount of time - she'd need the attitude of an it-girl to stay there.

So, cue the masquerade ball. It was the event that kicked off the school year. The party that anybody who was anybody was invited to. Which meant __ male, of course. Yet imagine __female's surprise when she was actually invited. She wasn't a fan of large social gatherings, or parties, but __ Williams was going. The Barton would do anything just to have one proper conversation with him. The only problem was his girlfriend, __ female [2]. Okay, so for __ male, it was just another notch on his bedpost. But for her? Sure, she was elitist, and a little demanding at times, yet she loved him. She was completely, utterly under his spell, just like little miss __ female.

Everyone knows that parties in the upper east side are full of scandal. This year, they didn't disappoint. After a few too many shots - she really wasn't used to this partying thing - __ female had somehow brought up the courage to go over to __ male. Half an hour later, the pair were making out in a cab on the way to the infamous Bass Hotel. You all know what happened next. It was exactly what __ female had dreamed of. She'd lost her virginity to the right guy, just not in the right situation. They weren't dating, he wasn't in love with her, and, worst of all, he already had a girlfriend. In the morning, he simply said goodbye and left. Maybe he wasn't so perfect after all.

Ever since that night, everyone's been a bit confused. __female is upset that she gave it all away for a guy that, admittedly, she's head over heels for, but doesn't like her back. There's also the matter that he cheated on his girlfriend with her, which doesn't help make her feel any better. Should she tell __ female [2]? What would happen if she did? After all, in the 'hierarchy', the a-lister was above her, and capable of turning her back into a social outcast. But __ female [2] has worries of her own. Why is her boyfriend acting so weird? It wasn't guilt, that's for sure. __ male has cheated on plenty of his girlfriends before. But actually, he was growing a few feelings for __ female. Despite her flaws, she was unlike any other girl he knew. But still, he was too good for her. Everyone knew that __ female's introduction into HIGH SOCIETY had been less then perfect, and it wouldn't be long before she was all the way back at the bottom again.

SUB PLOT TWO.

don't you forget about me

__ male and __ female were the best of friends. Sure, they attended different schools, but practically every second of free time they had, the two were together. Even though they weren't, people always thought they were a couple. More then once, __ female had to nervously giggle and tell the person they were talking to that they most certainly weren't. It's not that there was anything wrong with the pair. They weren't elite, but they weren't frequently bullied nerds, either. It was like they were outside of the popularity driven world that all their peers lived in. They had each other. That was all that mattered.

Over the years, __ female had experienced a few boyfriends. Usually, it lasted for perhaps five months or so, but they never actually got that serious. It wasn't that she was a commitmentphobe, just after a while, her boyfriend would comment on how much time she would spend with __ male, even getting angry or upset about it. Because, of course, the boy in question would always be second. Whenever it go too bad, __ female would break up with him. __ male, on the other hand, never had any proper girlfriends. Sure, he had flings now and again, but never anything that actually mattered. Why? It was simple. He was in love with his best friend.

__ male knew that she'd never be able to see him in that way. They were practically siblings. Which was, ew, kind of gross when you put it in that context. But how could either of them basically sacrifice their friendship on a fling that would maybe never work? They couldn't. They wouldn't. Or that's what they thought. Cue one late night at party, where both of them got drunk off their heads. Intoxicated and reckless, she'd grabbed his hand and led him to a room upstairs.

They kissed. It didn't go any further then that. No, it was worse. __ male told her that he loved her. That he was in love with her. He rambled incoherently, a corny romantic speech that despite it's numerous clichés, was still remarkably true. She merely smiled and pressed her lips to his again, silencing him, and he wasn't even sure if she took in exactly what he said. Both of them were pretty drunk, after all. Then she left, laughing to herself, but not particularly at him.

The next day. He rang her phone constantly, before she finally picked up at around six pm. Apparently, due to the bad hangover she had, she'd been in bed practically all day. He quickly asked her what happened last night, and she told him that she didn't remember, except that she'd had a few too many beers. So they were fine, __ male figured. Still friends. She had completely forgotten what he'd said to her. Or, at least, she was making out as though she had.

Does __ female really have no idea of her best friend's feelings? Did she just completely forget what had happened? And will __ male also go on like nothing had happened? He wasn't lying, he truely is in love. But what if the feelings aren't requited? Lately, he's been avoiding her calls, barely talking to her, confused by his own emotions. Will their friendship fall apart completely or will a new relationship start?

SUB PLOT THREE.

nothing can keep us together

__ female and __ male seemed like the perfect little couple. They were both rich, spoilt, and more then a little selfish. In fact, when it came to personality, the pair were practically identical. Entering their senior year, most people thought they were that couple who would make it last. You know, get married at the age of eighteen, go to college together, and then have cute little pampered babies together. It was the American dream. Well, it was __ female's dream, anyhow. Considering the fact that __ male was pretty in love with his slightly superficial girlfriend, it was probably his, too. Everything was going great for them - both were set to graduate with honours and go onto the best college in new york, ready to start the next chapter of their life. Or at least, that was the plan.

Just a three days before __ male and __ female were due to take their finals, __ female's father tragically passed away having suffered a heart attack in the early hours of the morning. To say that it hit __ female hard would be an understatement. Of course, on a shallow level, it meant that she lost her number one money source but her relationship with her father was much deeper than that. She had never really been that close to her mother, who had always been distant and cold, more bothered about keeping up appearances and attending the socialite dinners than bonding with her daughter, her only child.

It didn't take long before __ female's whole world came crashing down around her. It turned out that her father had harboured a gambling addiction, leaving them in hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of debt. Fortunately the money in the family savings account was enough to clear them of debt, but it ruined __ female's dreams of attending college with __ male. Even if she had the money, she wouldn't have gotten in anyway - the emotional trauma messed her up causing her to seriously under perform in her finals. She passed, but just a pass isn't good enough to get into the elite colleges.

Within a couple of months, __ female found herself in a crappy flat in brooklyn, almost totally detached from her mother and unfortunately, the boyfriend that she was so in love with. They hadn't separated, but __ male was hardly supportive. They rarely spent time together - she was so below him now and he had appearances to keep up. He was rich, she wasn't. She wasn't even going to college. Her life was a dead end.

Slowly but surely, __ female began making a new life for herself. It's not been easy - since the death of her father, she's battled mild depression, but she's determined to get her life back on track.

Will she want to win back __ male's affection? Is __ male even interested anymore? Or does __ female want to start a completely new slate, get a new job, even new friends and possibly a new boyfriend? Has __ male completely moved on?

SUB PLOT FOUR.

Ever since he was little, __male wanted to be like his father. His father who happened to be a pro basketball player during the early eighty’s was __ male idol and to this very day still is. So when high school rolled around it was only natural that __ male would go under his father’s footsteps at all cost. So when the season rolled around and __ male realized he was never going to see the light of day in any basketball game, period decided to do the safe thing by practicing and working hard. Soon enough after little progress __ male had enough, he was going to make his father proud and to keep the family legacy - even if __ male had to take something to give him a boost.

So once the following season started __ male pumped up on steroids practically every other day. His game was increasing and was starting to take notice by college scouts, yet something else happened. He was starting to lose it his relationship - something that he held very dear to his heart. So this is where __ female comes into play. Both __ male and __ female have been dating for the past nine months and both claim that they are in love. But __ male, who keeps using the drugs to boost his game, is starting to become more and more unstable and __female is starting to take notice and is getting curious about what is happening to her boyfriend.

__ male, not wanting anyone to know of his little drug problem is defensive when __female starts to question __ male. Not a good idea, and the once promising couple on the east side is slowly breaking apart. __ male who is more focused on basketball and not giving __ female the time of day is still using the drugs while __ female needs someone to talk to so she turns to her child hood best friend, __ male [2].

__ male [2] and __ female deep down had a connection, they were always some-what attracted to each other even if they had their own relationships, the two would always flirt and practically just be “good friends”. So when __ male [2] hears about __ female and __ male relationship problems, he knew it was his time to make his move on __female. Now __ male isn’t a dumb guy, and is starting to notice __ female and __ male [2] hanging out more and more and __ male is starting to get a bit jealous, so he does what a jealous boyfriend does, confronts__ male [ 2]

On one particular day, __ male [ 2 ] is seen by __male leaving __female’s house after a homework session. This sparks rage and __ male confronts __ male [2] and tells him to leave his girl alone and that he needs to stop being nosy and to try and not hit on girls who have a boyfriend. __ male [2] counters saying that she doesn’t even love him anymore and that she hates how __ male is pushing her away. Then all hell breaks lose and the two exchange a few punches.

This wouldn’t be too bad if __ female wasn’t watching. Well she was, she saw every single detail and heard every single word that was said between the two. After that incident she dropped both boys out of her life not speaking to any of them. She broke up with __ male over the phone and didn’t respond to __ male [2]. __ male does love her and thinks she’s the one and is ready to open up to her and confess that he has a drug problem and needs help. Also __ male [2] is ready to tell her that he always had feelings for her. Who should __female choose? The boyfriend with the problem? Or the best friend who’s been there for her? Its all up to you now.

SUB PLOT FIVE.

__ male and __ female were never really friends. They weren’t enemies or anything they just never had gotten the chance to actually properly meet each other, but there's never a better time than now, right? Well the two literally bumped heads the first time they met, which was at none other than the Rockefeller Ice Rink. While __ male was taking his younger siblings out for a ride on the ice, __ female came there to clear her thoughts.

Why did the miscommunication between the two leading them to hit each other? Well __ male was never particularly strong on ice skates and was thankful for gliding and __ female was actually trying to speed off so that her ex-boyfriend, __ male 2 wouldn’t see her.

That’s right the incident was caused by __ female not wanting to see her ex of nearly a year with his new girl, __ female 2. But in New York everything catches up to you, everything. And look who just skated past, __ female and __ male both on the ground and both a bit embarrassed. The Ex of course and with his new girl. __ female being a bit shocked and embarrassed could do the only thing that came to her head at the time, she waved at __ male 2 and __ female 2 and told them to meet her new boyfriend, __ male.

__ male, shocked and speechless, just stood there as he let __ female do all the talking. And by the end of the entire ordeal __ male who went ice skating with his younger siblings just got himself a new girlfriend. And who said nice guys finished last?

So now the two are friends, but __ male is starting to have feelings for __ female. He's invited her to go out to the cinema sometime, only as friends of course. Will he tell __ female how he feels at the party? Or well he just accept the fact that it’s hopeless, and she still clearly feels something for her ex, __ male 2. It's anyone’s game right now.

SUB PLOT SIX.

__ male’s father is considered one of the most wealthiest people in the upper east side. What does he do you may ask? Well he owns __ medical corporation, considered the frontier in all medical experiments and treatments on the east coast. So what do big fortune 500 companies love to do other than having lavish corporate sponsor parties? They like to beat up and take over competition of course, and this time is no different.

This is where __ female comes into play. Her father owns _______ institute of medicine in new York city. It's the second leading company in medicine in the East Coast, and whilst it's not as big or powerful as _______ medical corporation, it's still a force to be reckon with. But lately the company had been slipping due to poor management and, well, lack of business. So this is where it gets a bit dirty.

Out of fear and desperation that his company will get taken over by __ male’s father, __female’s father has decided to make things more interesting, and what is more interesting than gossip in New York, even if it is about men in their late fifties. So what happens next, you may ask? Well, the newspapers were all over the fake gossip that was given to them by an “unknown” source of course. The things said? Well the usual, __ male’s father cheated on his wife of thirty two years more times then you can count, he hired mafia members to deal with troubling clients, and that he himself killed a man. So the news shocked everyone including __ male, and it even shocked the New York City police who were looking into the possibility of foul play on __ male’s part.

It was needless to say that life for __ male’s family was practically in the dumps. His father was accused of horrible allegations, the marriage wasn’t going so hot and __ male was getting talked more about than Jamie Lynn Spears' young pregnancy. So wait - how is __ male and __ female are related? Well, they just started dating and had been known as the “new” couple. Everyone knew about their fathers business rivalry and were counting down the days before the fathers would cancel the relationship.

The two were going to try and make it out. But __ female had her own secrets. She knew it was her father who planted those dirty rumors about her boyfriends father. She knew it from the start. How did she know you may ask? She over heard her father talking to one of his high officials on the phone about some sort of “payback” and “winning at all cost” ordeal and __ male’s last name. So when the news first hit, it was only time before __ female figured out the puzzle. So what should __ female do? Tell her __ boyfriend that it was her father that spread all those nasty rumors about the family? Or protect her own name? Ain’t no love in the heart of the city.

__ female and __ female [2] are the best of friends. They have been best friends since they both could remember what a friend was. They would often go shopping together and just do girl stuff, you know? Well now that these two ladies have grown up, they aren’t so sweet and innocent anymore. So what do pretty girls with money like to do? Well they like to party of course, yet __ female has always had that good girl reputation, that kind of “family first” attitude about her and she wasn’t really known to have a wild side.

Her best friend __ female [2] was quite the opposite, she loved to have a good time by any means necessary. So on a Friday night, the two young women were out on the town and were enjoying themselves at a party, although only __ female [2] was actually enjoying herself and __ female was just off to the side making sure her best friend didn’t get into too much trouble. What a night this would be...

Before long, it became clear that not only was __ female [2] drinking far too much, but that she was under the effect of some more illegal substances as well. That was the first time __ female noticed her friend taking drugs, but it wasn't the last. In fact, it was only the beginning. Soon, whenever they went out, the other girl would be snorting some unknown powder or swallowing some mysterious pill, washing it down with alcohol afterwards. __ female was worrying. She had no idea what to do.

When she went to __ female [2]'s house, it all came crashing down. Her father was out at who knows where, and the place was a total tip. Un-invited, she went in, to find her best friend completely out of it, clearly intoxicated and who knows what else. They argued. __ female desperately wanted to get her some help, and clearly, this did not appeal to the other girl. It turned out her father was away gambling, once again, causing a strain on money for the two person family. Many hurtful things were said - all of them by __female [2], mind you - and __ female left in tears.

Now they're not even talking to each other. __female is full of worry for her downward spiralling friend, whom she's sure has some kind of addiction and desperately needs advice and help. However, __ female [2] thinks that she's being a self-righteous bitch, claiming that it's her life and how she likes it. But no matter how much she says nothing is wrong, anyone can see she's slowly falling apart. Will __ female forgive her friend in order to help her? Will __ female [2] accept that help at all?
