Title: Your favourite TOTP moments

Inspired by Butcher Boy's neat trick of being supported by a screening of a TOTP episode from 1983 featuring performances from Altered Images and Orange Juice, I ask you: what, pray tell, are your favourite TOTP moments?

Mine is - steady yourselves - a life-changing one. The Exploited doing "Dead Cities". Before that evening I was a fledgling metaller. I liked Thin Lizzy, and was doing my best to be excited by Rainbow, but with mixed success. Afterwards I was a committed punk fan, buzzing to the point of short-circuiting. My life was ruined in an instant. I had never seen anything like it in my short, twelve year old life, and it was the single most exciting, energising thing I'd ever experienced. I just remember running out of the room shouting "Dead Cities! Dead Cities!" That was it. I was a goner.

TOTP's is where you first realise things are sexy. i remember The Diviniyls 'I Touch Myself' and Wendy James in Transvision Vamp doing 'I Don't Care' sending young Frankie wild!

The Members doing Sound of the Suburbs on the same day I'd bought it on clear vinyl from Rumbelows. I wanted to be Nicky Tesco for a whole 5 minutes.

For Rite of Passsage mine would have to be Denis by Blondie with Debbie Harry looking like the first woman I'd ever really seen.

Other than that I remember Peel calling Queen 'The Sun City Boys' which was funny and threatening to come round and break wind in your kitchen if you didn't but the new Wah single.
