Hi,

i will spent a few days in barcelona (25. - 28. May) for the first time. Can anybody recommend good discos, clubs or bars, where is offering good indie music, like the sound at the primavera sound festival? Or even good concerts and gigs, that are announced for these days.

Thanks Sascha

a few years back there used to be a club night with various names, "Nitsa" and "Astin" (and "Nasti", but I think this one was in Madrid run by the same people).
They were playing lots of indiepop but I don't know if they still exist.

"Nitsa" and "Astin" were the name of the club night, not of the venue though. Maybe you can lookout for them (if they are still around).

I'm a bit worried about the weather for Primavera this year - it's been raining for the past couple of weeks, but I'm delighted to say that things are looking up from Wednesday...

HuiBuh - it's a bit late, but try the Apolo venue near Paral.lel for the pre-Primavera gigs.

I never did come back and say how bloody ace Primavera Sound was, did I?

Anyway, it's all starting again.... *puts on Spanish voice*

"Next 12th and 13th december will see the third edition of Estrella Damm Primavera Club in Barcelona. First confirmed artists for our winter bash-up are Darren Hayman & Jack Hayter play Hefner songs (their last show doing the songs from Hefner) and The Wave Pictures, probably the pop band of the year.
You can acquire a compound ticket for Estrella Damm Primavera Club '08 + Estrella Damm Primavera Sound '09 at a price of 95€ (subject to booking fee) for a limited time at the usual ticketing retailers: www.primaveraclub.com, Tick Tack Ticket network, CD Drome Barcelona and CD Drome Madrid."

Primavera Sound 2009:

QUOTE
New names are added to the line-up of Estrella Damm Primavera Sound 2009. My Bloody Valentine, Spiritualized, Damien Jurado, Gang Gang Dance and Alela Diane will be among the artists performing at the open-air music festival, which will take place next year between the 28th and 30th of May in Barcelona.

To these acts we have to add the previously confirmed artists on the line-up: the british pianist Michael Nyman, Extra Life presenting their debut album "Secular Works", the young brothers [sic] Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, The Soft Pack's american punk pop, the veterans Throwing Muses -also from the United States- and the indie cult band The Vaselines.

The full-festival tickets for the 2009 edition are already available for sale at 90 € (+ booking fee) and can be purchased at the following sale outlets: Tick Tack Ticket network, CD Drome shops in Barcelona (Valldonzella str. 3) and Madrid (Pozas str. 6), Seetickets UK, Fnac France and PayPal.

Incredibly (and sadly), it's slightly cheaper to buy through Seetickets at £84 - price goes up after 31 Dec, I think.

That's some line-up already. The pound better sorts itself out though or it's going to end up being more expensive than Glasto.
