Title: Wood Elf Wip
Description: Loren by night...

Working on this cherub in Photoshop, she's deliberately made to look inhuman, not a pretty hippy elf but a supernatural winter-spirit type, not the slightly "grey alien" shaped face. She'll be surrounded by evil Spites too, but that'll come much later.

Might as well post this charcoal drawing I did about the same time as well (reminded about it by whoring mesen on Warseer, heheh):

I'm not so sure about the skin tone on the first one, but I'm in love with the sketch!

The second one (charcoal one) is top-notch! The first one is nice, but the second one just looks smashing.
Where as there are some inconscistencies in both images (proportions) its an improvement from previous works of yours, which is good, thats why we are here- to learn and improve :D.
All the "faults" in proportions are minor in both images, but in the second one, there are only two- the shield-arm and the leg underneath are slightly smaller then they should be. The best way to see it is to compare with the equivalent on the other side.

The leg- The boot is short like mad on the shield-side, giving the guy a VERY long thigh. It's not really visible at first glance, I saw it only when I looked closer, it also gives him an extremely short leg under the knee.

The arm- Since the shoulders are level, then so should the elbows. On the shield-side the elbow is slightly higher up (and thats even if concidering the armcovers that cover the elbow and a bit above it)

Beyond this the second image is perfectly executed!
Very nice composition!

Thanks C., I'm really glad you pointed those inconsistencies out, doubtless I wouldn't have noticed them myself. Ironic I suppose, since I'm always reminding myself that one of the marks of a good artist is being able to spot and correct his own errors, and egging people (even on this board) not to skimp on anatomy and proportions... I really should read my own books, heheh. I do think I've gotten better at spotting such things since, but sometimes I'm too subtle for my own good. Keep at it I suppose... again, thankyou both for the complements.

It's actually been a fair while since I drew each of these, it was earlier this year, June, a few weeks before I joined Illuminatus.

I'm not sure how much I like the first one, I may redo the skin, or I may forget about it. Which is not for me to decide at this time.
