Hello everyone. Its been nearly a year (maybe more) since I was last here, and for that I apologise. Since then I've been mostly doing dungeons and dragons related stuff for my and my friends campaigns, but I did do a bit of 40k stuff a while back, and am planning to do a few more things soon.

So looking for a bit of constructive criticism on how to improve some. Bear in mind most of this was from a while ago so I feel I have improved a bit since then.

The Inquisition War Cast.

This was my first experiment with doing colour other than just colouring something and shading it, so its a bit messy in places. Particularly the background. I was chuffed with it at the time though.

Elena Derosa from Dawn of War 2.

I simplified the colouring on this one. Some of the shading stands out a bit though. Also don't like how the hand looks. Hands are still something I probably need improvement on.

Warrior Woman from the old Last Chancers set.

Lasgun is a bit wonky on this one. I was still working out shading faces so the skin is also a bit chalky. Also the head may be slightly too large.

Deadeye, who I could swear was a special character for Necromunda just before it was shelved but can find no info regarding him.

Not sure if his legs are correct, he seems a little small. Hands could be better. Background is also a bit messy.

See if you can spot the song quotes.

Continued.

Commissar Holt from Final Liberation.

Angle of arm to gun bugs me. Also I hate drawing commissar hats and can never get them quite right. Anyone got any tips?

Felicia from the Commissar Cain books, as she appears in Cains last stand.

Other than missing the snak bars she's addicted too I'm mostly happy with this one.

Off Duty R&R

I'm still proud of this one. It came about trying to come up with a design for non armoured sisters of battle. I'd also been wanting to develop the quick sketch I did of the Necromundan Guardswoman I did for the "girls girls girls" topic on WSG. It then spiralled out of control into the monster above.

Old Habits

And finally something I did far more recently. This is just a quick one I did of the Necromundan Guardswomen in uniform. Looking at the hands I realise the one in front must have really long fingers to bend them round the others like that. Also the armour should have been bulkier. Background could have been better too.

Ok, that it for now. Anyone got any ideas on where I can improve and how?

Overall I love the variety of characters and some of the details you've got in there.

Perspective and depth is generally good but could do with improving, as could some of your anatomy.

Perhaps try sketching over some reference material for the anatomy?

Cheers,
Stug

Fair shout Stug. I've been putting alot of work into light sources recently. Anatomy I've found in the past comes with more and more practice. I've done a few more since then, I'll put them up within the next few days.

Ok, here's three characters I've done within the last month or so. I put alot of work into how light sources, depth and shading works, as well as putting more practice into anatomy.

Revi - Reformed Cultist

Commissar Augustus

Happy with the first two, as with some of my earlier stuff, Augustus' carpace armour should look bulkier under his jacket.
