It certainly could be interesting. What do you think are the benefits?

Mainly, I thought, the chance to add some meat to the bones of what we know of each other IRL, plus the opportunity to have some IM Facebook chat and challenge Ordo members to the occasional game of Scrabble.

I've found in other venues that encouraging wider socialization helps sustain the spirit and friendliness of a forum.

Do I recall Mol mentioning that it wasn't possible for him to mass email more than once every few days? Highly frustrating if he has something he urgently needs to let us know.

Good point; I usually use MSN to keep track of forumites (reminds me that we need an MSN address thread) but I know that IM programmes aren't always to everyones' tastes.

I'll definitely look into setting one up. A sense of familiarity and community is certainly something I want to engender. smile.gif

Likewise.

Yeah, I used to use MSN and Windows Live Messenger, but I found that I was waiting almost fifteen minutes for my slightly creaky PC to boot up.

I should add that I'm also on Skype. Search for "robeyjenny" and send me a request if you're out there!

I've accepted everyone who's joined thus far. I'm also making Precinctomega an officer, which should mean he's able to organise things.

You guys are free to make what you like of the group - start whatever topics or the like you want. Perhaps the first thing should be working out who is who! smile.gif

I think you've been accepted, Stug - I accepted two people this morning and I've not had any applications since then. I have made PrecinctOmega an admin, though, so he'll be able to approve people too. Hopefully users won't be kept waiting too long. smile.gif
