The Games Workshop universes are grim and unrelenting places of eternal war. Only those who fight for the causes they believe in are likely to succeed in these times. This is your chance to depict one such Champion.

This "Champion" could be very diverse indeed. It could be something as simple as an Emperor's Champion or a Company Champion for a Space Marine Chapter. It could be a Chosen Champion of one of the Chaos Gods. Perhaps a Dark Eldar Lord's favoured Wych Cultist. Or you could depict a Sister of Battle, a Champion of the Emperor's purity. Equally, you could have a Bretonnian Knight jousting for his Lady's favour or a Pit Fighter in the gladiatorial ring. Choose your cause, and then choose your Champion well!

Sister Freya, a Sister of Battle to whom any order would be proud to have serve their ranks, lived and died protecting the rigtheous. Despite her slightly frail stature was a legend is ripping apart the atoms that bound matter in any living heretic, alien scum, or foul demon with any improvised weapon at hand.
Freya came to prominence on the world of Dis battling the Cult of Sanguine. Her squad had come detached from the main 'pacification' efforts when overrun with choatic zealots thirsting for blood. A khornate demon who was shouting expletives at his worshippers, whom had been struggling to take down Sister Freya and her squad now almost standing on the coarpses of the possessed peasants, was entering the melee. Her squad was dwinderling, each sister who had fell, within minutes had been hoisted onto a crucifix and their coarpse used as a banner to fuel the mobs aggression. Their battered and blooded bare bodies defiled and now used as a tool of chaos. Freya, spotting an oppertunity in the horn covered beast, hack and slashed through his followers to meet the beast head on. She had saved the last of her holy bolter rounds to slay the demon. The burst only crippled it, severing its wretched horn covered arm. Not detered Freya picked up the served arm and beat the demon into hump of unrecognisable bones and muscle. The mob backed off momentarily, seeing its avatar slain so brutally. Still using the demons served arm, Sister Freya crunched and crippled any remaining herectics in her path towards friendly lines saving the lives of the rest of the squad.
Although Freyas death is unconfirmed, she was last seen being surrounded by orks on the planet of Fort Arthur assisting the Inquistor Jaq Davinous find a holy relic of great importance. It is unlikely but, only the Emperor knows if they survived. The two have not been seen since and are presumed dead. May she be remembered for all the her brilliance and brightness, one so young should not be lost so early.

Nobody ever said you had to. It doesn't have to be a canonical champion.

Really interesting to see what people are coming up with. I chose to look at a character who is not necessarily a marked champion, but he is certainly a champion of the sword and hand to hand combat. Lucius (pre heresy) captain of the 13th Company Emperors Children. If anyone hasn't read the book 'Fulgrim' they really should i think it is my favorite yet in the HH series. Anyway this took me about three hours, i got a little frustrated and started another piece of work and came back to this, i have no problem with first hand portraits, but i find drawing faces from my imagination difficult, hence the slightly retarded face. Anyway what i was trying to purvey was Lucius arrogant and self confidant personality with the sword balancing thing. Hope you guys like it, im going to do a lot of practice on drawing the human face and anatomy without any subject matter.

@Chris Jones: The picture isn't half bad, it's an interesting concept that is very Emperor's Children-y. Though like you mentioned yourself, the face bothers me. No offence but he looks retarded.

@Striogi: Your concept of making every WSG into a comic is awesome. Don't stop. O:

@BiGFooT: Great work with the hair there, I must say. But the shoulderpads, aren't they very high up on his shoulders? Or I might be wrong. :/

"You won't hold that for long, daemon-spawn!"
"Daemon-spawn? One so hopelessly ignorant of his origins should not be so quick to insult another's parentage, brother."
"We are not brothers, heretic!"
"Hahaha, of course not... My mistake."

Two Fantasy entries from me this week.

Champion of order...

Or of Chaos...
(the scan ended up very light on this one. It's a gibbet that has just failed to execute a magician or psyker depending on which setting you feel like it being in. The background is a cathedral; the right middle ground is a graveyard; the left middleground is/will be a crowd; middleground is divided by a road from the cathedral to the gibbet.

Both still in a very sketchy stage, but I plan to work more on both of them.
