This week's task is to depict... well, whatever you want to depict, as long as speed is at the heart of your picture!

Whether it's a Thunderhawk Gunship screaming through the sky, Giant Eagles swooping down on their prey, a Bretonnian Knight charging full-tilt or somebody running at (or away from!) their enemy, the sky is the limit!

I went with a slightly different method for inking. Tell me if you see a difference.

(I'll also be coloring it too)

Very nice Striogi... I very much like the new style.

I'd still like to see the space background being dark or black, as opposed to white. I can see why you're doing it, so I hope the colour (should you get round to it) will fix this.
Otherwise it's very cool. Nice layout, too!

Well, I'm early this week, too... and went for something a bit different. I wish I could have captured the speed aspect a bit better, but it'll have to do... tongue.gif

@schwager: Yeah, I hear you. white space does bug me a bit.
this week the inking was more angular, jagged, heavier and with a Micron instead of a ballpoint.

As for the color version,

how's that?

I think to increase the high velocity nature of your image, perhaps you should have changed the camera angle to put it more in line with the vector of the grot's trajectory.

Whoohoo! Late one, which I almost didn't do.

I bloody love vampires and tau. but no tau this week. biggrin.gif

Striogi: Interesting! The change was not bad for me. And don't know why, but I feel that the colored one has lesser impact. Perhaps I saw the non-colored one first?

Schwager: Haha, that is darn cute. I guess you have played the pc(360) game? Interesting concept though, never would have thought about that.

Anyway, this week is rather quiet ain't it? Anyway, just want to apologise for all the lousy work I put here. Changing of department here and then really screws up my time.

1 sentence. Hotel housekeeping is really tiring...

Well, I'm not really sure what to say! I guess that things are quietening across the internet - times are hard for a lot of people, but still I have to wonder if I'm just putting up topics that suck! I've tried to go for generic topics that can be interpreted in multiple ways just to encourage people to participate, but still I'm left wondering what's going on...

So suffice to say that I'm very glad you did participate!

Schwager, I really like your entry. Very cute, fitting for Blood Bowl, too!

Strigoi: Unless you'd told me, I don't think I would've immediately noticed that the inking was different. I really like the shading on the inset panel of the pilot, his helmet is really quite cool.

russ29: Nice picture. I think the swift, sketchy nature helps emphasise the speed of a hardened killer dispatching a score of foes!

I've had a go at this one, although it's more a case of changing the stuff I was doing to fit in, so it doesn't give the best impression of speed. Still, I'm quite pleased with it, if only because its the best photoshop stuff I've done so far, and I learnt a fair bit while doing it. The scenery itself is the part I'm most pleased with, as the planes don't really give much, or any, sense of speed. But still, here goes:

Nice one Hastatus. I like the atmosphere to the picture. But somehow I feel the image is quite distracting because its just in the corner, instead of it being centerstage.

Mol: Thanks! I'm trying very hard to try and post something, as long as I have an idea or inspiration. Got to thank everyone here for giving me the will to strive forward!

Hastatus: I like it. Very 'Stugmeister'-style I must admit.

Mol: In Europe it is summer holidays these months which may explain lesser entries.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree the composition is terrible, but I'm not too worried about that for several reasons. Firstly, I did it simply to practice doing the sea and sky, which I'm very pleased with. Secondly, I added in the planes only after seeing what the topic was. But I agree they could be much better placed... I was thinking of doing a second pic, with (hopefully) much better composition, but ran out of time.

Horizon: Thanks!

I have to apologise. I feel bad about not getting involved, but I'm seldom brimming with ideas, and I'm still putting quite a lot of time into the piece for the old sniper topic.

Yes, I know it's a sketch group, but this is a piece I'd like to get properly sorted, regardless of whether or not it needs to be for the group.

Not all of my art has to be unfinished scrawlings of a questionable quality...
