This week's news has been to do with Games Workshop's newest models - the Space Wolves. I didn't want to do a topic based solely around the Space Wolves, so this week's topic is "Cold". Whether you depict the frigid wastes of Fenris, the Valhallans, the vengeful Kurgan marching from the Chaos Wastes or the icy stare of an Inquisitor looking down the barrel of a gun, this week's task is to show the worlds of 40k and WFB as cold, inhospitable places to live.

Good work russ, you have certainly succeeded in making the facial features of this marine very work like. There is something wrong with the shoulder though, i think it may be a little small, far back and slightly to high up the marines body.

Haha, thanks for the comment Chris. I agree with you, I actually had decided to make it bigger and lower, but then I was in a rush so messed it up. Come to think of it, I'm missing the backpack!

Thanks Chris! I'm always prefering rough sketches, as they convey alot since I'm really really bad at putting color to my works.
Anyway, can't wait for all your ideas and works! |

First off, that Marine looks great! The only slight flaws i can spot is the handle of the chainsword and, as previously mentioned, the backpack. Apart from that its excellent!
Anyways, this weekly sketch thing seems like a blast, so i thought id jump right in. ![]() Some cold steel rising from its grave, ready to make the universe a worse place for all! |

Wow-ow! Good improvement there Chris! Although I'm not a real fan of IG.
Morbidi: Nice concept, however, I think you could focus it on the face to show its cold green eyes with the surrounding in ice. I think it can show a little more 'emotion'. |

Thanks for the advice Russ, focusing on the face would definately put more of a feeling into it, didn't think of it for one second
And to Chris Jones piece; brilliant. You really managed to do the word cold justice, can almost feel the snow on my face! I particularly like the tank, can't quite define why, but it looks stunning! |
