Whether it's a Carnosaur devouring the latest trespassers into the Lustrian jungle, a Space Wolf Lord toasting as part of a banquet or a stressed out Imperial Guardsman eatng his rations before going over the top, this week's task is to depict a meal time for the inhabitants of one of the GW universes!

What an awesome topic!
Thanks Commissar, this has to be one of my favourites so far... so I even got something done with time to spare for a change But first some comments... @ Morbidi: Very nice idea and you've captured the moment rather well. Juts a few things, though... the fog/smog doesn't look very fog/smog like. Fog/smog tends to spread very evenly and gets thicker towards the top or bottom, depending on which one it is. Have a look at some references and you'll see what I mean. And I couldn't help but notice that the Guardsman is rather cross-eyed @ russ29: Another great take on the subject and I like the subtle colouring... really brings out the blood You're arms and hands, though, are really very small and need some further looking at. Don't worry about getting fingers and other details to look good, but try and get the proportions of everything down correctly first. Some of the facial features could be brought out a bit more, too... especially cheek bones... and especially on the girl. Well then, I went with an old favourite of mine... the small but mean eating machines called Squigs. Enjoy! |

Thanks for the crit Schwager. Darn it, when I'm the only person who is bad at drawing hands even when I say its the hardest to draw, while others say its hard but 'boom' and they do miracles.
There were certain reasons why I overlooked in the picture. The hands and arms were supposed to be drawn differently. The woman was supposed to be clutching her chest while the vampire rips off her clothes, but it seemed too 'violent' so i changed it. And when I shaded it, I made the hand far too small. And you are right about the face as well. Because they started from anime looking face. Although you can still see it in the picture now as well. Anyway, another nice piece of art from you. Very hilarious I must say, and that the cartoony style look for the grots look very in place. And nice work on the title of this week's WSG! Its another nice and interesting touch to your artwork. |

Thanks for the comments ppl!
Russ - Really nice pic, love the colours on the vampire and his prey there, as previously mentioned, it makes the blood look all the sweeter, haha...! Schwager - Thanks for the crits, the smog does indeed look quite fishy, i really need to practice environmental effects and such hah! And the eyes were actually intentional, wanted to give him this sort of sleepy, oblivious look if you get what i mean That pic is genius btw, love the expressions on the little gobbos there, and those squigs do look voracious! |

And I like what you did at the background. Another troll finding for food! |

Welcome, Garnus! not a bad first sketch!
You might consider uploading the pic to Photobucket instead of a site where we have to click the link to see your sketch... Forgefire: No one ever does Trolls. Awesome. Schwager: Well rendered as always, tho something tells me that the snotling is more likely to have pushed the gobbo than to be looking for help... maybe he's calling others to watch. Russ29: Schwager touched on the hand proportions. Here's some practical advice; try breaking down hands into their basic shapes. there are more than a few guides on it available, one thing This link is a pretty good one. it gets rather deep into it, but start with the first section where he's breaking down the shapes of the hand. Morbidi: nice sketch! Tyranids are always near and dear to my heart and you seem to have captured the pensive worry of the guardsman well. You might consider moving him to the left or right and putting in a few more guardsmen behind him, the group obviously looking for something. If you're going more for the loneliness factor, you might put in a few dead guardsmen in to ratchet up the tension. |
