Frank Frazetta, famous for his contributions to sci-fi and fantasy artwork, passed away on 10 May this spring. Chances are, even if you've never seen a Frazetta image, you've been influenced by him - he's so foundational to the style, and especially to the bold, lurid, heroic, monstrous, and sexy ethos of Warhammer's artwork, that he's impossible to miss. Here is a google search that turns up some of his paintings and drawings. http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=frank...=og&sa=N&tab=wi
This week's WSG is to sketch something Frank Frazetta. Draw a picture in your conception of his style, re-draw one of his existing paintings into the Warhammer universe, or even draw the man himself as a Fantasy or 40k character. (As Frazetta's artwork sometimes depicts men and women more comfortable in their own skin than this forum's policies dictate acceptable, please do not inline images that include frontal nudity - just provide a hyperlink and a brief note that they may be unsafe for particularly prudish workplaces I nominate Birdie for WSG21. |

Hi, I've watched this forum for some month now and I have finally which really gave me the lust to draw space marines! And finally I have found some time to participate to the weekly sketch groupe (though not enough time to end the drawing).
Stop talking, here is Fulgrim and her big breast naked girl. And here the original illustration from Frank Frazetta I'ill add some details and shadow as soon as I have some free time, but if you have over critics and advice they are very welcome! |

Sorry I forgot to scan this. I did make an effort ;ast week and wanted to submit late or not.
![]() The whole thing from sketch to finish took maybe 3 hours. Since I was basing it off of other art work I sketched in pencil first to get placements and basic shapes, then some detail. Rather then do all the detail in pencil then ink it I have been doing the majority of detail in pen as I come up with it. This makes me think harder about the choices before I put them down, it doesnt always work. I dont know if the studded leather pattern on the right SoB worked, but I like the mechanical eye I added to the one on the left. Only thing I am sad about is I forgot the moons. They need grand hovering moons. I may still add them. I did sketch out another one, I may finish it and post it. it would be useless to post it at the current state as it is in 6h pencil and would be almost invisible. |
