Thanks guys.
The banner will stay for two reasons. 1) It's a character, I find it suiting. and 2) It will give me a chance at designing a banner. Here are some WiP's for the Artificers Armoured Captain (which btw, is the same character...) Sketch ![]() First block in colours (sketchlayer is in Soft Light, which gives the lighter green and possibility to actually see the lines) ![]() When colour is blocked in, continue in normal mode. ![]() Next ![]() And next ![]() After this I was as per above (not going to put that one in here again...) ....and now working some on the skulls and other details ![]() (still awaiting some help from my man Hurri about the Terminator suited captain) |

This is looking great! I am very fond of the skull on his chest. And the other guy (with the beard) is looking good too, though the perspective on his face seems slightly skewed. Keep posting

I like the helmets, especially the ordinary power armor ones.

I love the power armoured helmets, Colrouphobic. Is there any chance I could convince you to do something similar for my DIY chapter's website?

I really like the helmets. Very cool. My favorites are the top right power armour helmet and the top left terminator helmet. Very cool.

Maybe, depends on how much, and when
Thanks, most people seem to favour those very two helmets. the two bottom right powerhelmets are just two normal helmets, but variant pattern-suggestions.
Thank you, I try my best |

I forgot to add (and just reinforcing your accomplishment) Congrats on the ability to draw forward termie heads. I can't even draw them sideways much less straight forward.

I'm also digging those power armored helmets, especially the top middle. Simple yet sinister.
And that artificer armored Captain is simply amazing. I especially like the way you handeled the breast-plate. The large skull in the middle is very well done. My only gripes with this guy is the color choice for the engraving on his sword, and that the shoulder pauldrons seem to be sticking up mighty high (almost above his head even). Keep up the good work! |

Thanks Nine. The Captain- isnt finnished. The sword needs quite some work still, and the colour is temporary until I can see which works best with the finnished colour on the actual sword The Shoulderpads- well...I am in favour of the extreme imagedry of 40k artwork... I believe in exaggerating the bulk of Space Marine Armour, making Eldar armour extremely sleek, Ork Armour extremely rough and so on... t'is just my style |

Fair enough, just seemed a bit 'off' according to where his trapezius met the deltoid. Of course that doesn't stop this guy from being a total badass though! |

This is probably a noobish question but do you start out in pencils? If so do you go over them before you scan to paint?? Any chance of a tutorial?
Thanks Morgaris |

Morgaris:
Sometimes I sketch first, scan and then paint in Photoshop (please note I work in Photoshop CS2, not in paint) But sometimes, like with the helmets, I work from scratch in Photoshop. I can see if I can whip up a tutorial, though it will be very limited in explanations because I suck at tutorials, and it is very depending on having the same things to work with as I do. (That is, I work with Photoshop CS2, if you don't have that program then tutorial wont really work for you. I work with a graphical tablet (pen on a tablet that transfers to screen, example of that is WACOM, I work with a smaller brand called Trust) if you dont have a tablet much of the tutorial wont work for you. But I can try |
