So you’re looking to join the ranks of the wonderful here? Well, this thread is here to help you do it! This isn’t really a rule, just more of a guideline (though there will be the occasional rule tossed in here or there!) Everything in this thread is going to be extremely important, so make sure you understand what we’re asking to have happen before you go and do something crazy and end up making yourself look silly! If you follow these rather simple steps, you’ll be good to go!

First, though it seems like a simple thing, you’ll need to register. Of course you’re reading the rules now so hopefully you know them before you register, and if you waited until after you registered you’re still reading them so go you! Now, when you register don’t be an idiot. If you want to play a canon, you should register as YOUR real (or name you use online) first name! That account will be deleted once you’ve been given the password to your canon account. If you want to play an Original Character, just register with your characters [s]FIRST and LAST[/b] name only! Yes I’m sure they have a wonderful middle name, but we don’t need to see it. As cute as COOPER JAMES or cooper james might look, that’s not how you need to register. Cooper James is though! Even bad guys should have a first and last name they go by.

Now that you have an account, you’ll go one of two paths. If you’re a canon, you’ll be going to the canon list and asking for the password to that character’s account. Once you get it, log in, PM a staff member that you got in, and then your old account will be deleted. You will then have to follow the simple guidelines in the canon list. It’s really quite simple.

Now, for those of you who wish to play an OC, the acceptance procedure is a little different. I’m going to state this LOUD and CLEAR! We Will ALWAYS Be Accepting Original Characters! ALWAYS! We might stop people from taking canons, we might run out of canons, but OCs WILL BE ACCEPTED FOREVER! Now, once you’ve registered, it’s time to get your powers (if you’re going to get some) and maybe find out a bit about your character. To do so, make a thread in The Beginning. The Powers That Be will reply with your magickal abilities (if you get them) and will inform you about said abilities or the lack thereof. Reality will then post and give you a bit of information about what you should do now.

While I don’t plan on stepping on Reality’s toes, I’ll let everyone in on a secret. Canons and Originals both need to have biographies written before they can be considered full members of the site. Canons have four days after getting the password. Now I’m sure a few of you are like...what?! The canons are already on the site! Yes, we know. We also know that WE know the characters, but we don’t know that you do. Thus, if you want to play them, you’ll have to write the biography and prove you DO know them! Canons will have to keep up with their character while they’re working on the bio, and if they fail to have one POSTED (note not accepted) within four days of getting the password sent to them, they lose the canon. We’ll change the password and that’ll be the end of it for you. Simple as that. Originals have a bit more time to get a WIP bio up (at the most a week) and once the bio is completely accepted, they’ll be in the game.

Now, this is where we do things a little different. I’m sure you’ve noticed that we don’t have an area for plottage pages, and that isn’t a mistake. We’re not allowing plottage pages. Yes oh RP Scene Fans, we’re putting a kibosh on them! Instead, since obviously people will know each other in Sunnydale, we’re doing what we call Character Comments. Basically, once a bio has been accepted AND Reality has posted, members will be allowed to reply with their characters. Let’s say Buffy has a bio and it’s all done. I play Amy, so I come and post a little bit about how Amy (in first person) feels about Buffy, how they met, and all that happiness. This allows OCs and Canons to get a lot more interaction AND increases the likelihood of someone reading the damned bio. Now, just because YOUR character feels that way about someone doesn’t mean the other person will feel the same. So, to ensure they know how you feel, post back!

After that, you’re ready to play!
