 Hiding section(s) with writing?

I was just wondering what the chances are of hiding the sections where people are going to post their writing from those who aren't registered. I ask because I recently got in to a discussion about this and because I'm hoping to someday publish my writing, I'd like to avoid posting it where it would be easily seen by the public (i.e. those not registered) as possible.
