Title: Armorcast Reaver Titan
Description: Where can i get one?

Yautja - April 13, 2008 07:52 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, i want to get one of the Armorcast Reaver titans, complete, unassembled (or easily disassembled and unpainted, i have already looked on ebay but i want to know if there's any other places i can get one just in case i can save money, or if any of you have one and would be willing to sell or trade (or both) for it? i dont have much money though, so i couldnt pay more than 150 pounds (including postage)
If i get one i plan to cast it (for Personal use and giving away to friends only! all legal i think, if it isnt, tell me now, i have no wish to be Sued for millions ^_^) and have about 3 of my own and make 3 more for friends, as i know someone who owns a Casting machine for Casting Cases/components for his Speaker company so i can get it done for almost free. i still need an original model though, and thats why it needs to be Complete and unpainted, so i can cast it without problems
Component conversion parts for Reavers would be awesome too, as i know they made different heads, a spiked Tail for chaos, and possibly more (tell me any more you know of please)

Casting a exact replica does infringe on gw/forgewords and opens up the remote possability of being sued, but is unlikely the gw police will come knocking on ur door unless ur selling them. But to avoid it it has to be 20% different the the original. A guy i know makes drop pods with the doors being changed and changed the shape of all the rivits.

okay. i did figure GW would have some way of suing me, they're mad like that, and i did expect that if i brought the Recast Reaver to GW they might have issues, but yeah, i agree, if i'm not actually selling them and its non-profit, theres no point, as as they no longer sell the Reaver, it is only sold second hand, its not like i am taking away from their business, i foresee possible problems when FW brings out their Reaver, but again while GW are crazy as hell, their need for money overshadows that, and i dont think it would be worth a court case just to shut down a Non-profit casting group that only made 6 and didnt sell them, gave them away.

I dont really know what i could do to the reavers to make em 20% different though.... as it really needs to look similar so the Reavers look alright besides the original, i could only really change certain components. possibly a fresh sculpted head, different weapon models? i dont like the head and some of the weapon models anyway, and thats a simple thing to make new ones. Possibly a T-visor helmet like Medieval knights and a Hammer arm.

again this is all plans and guesswork, i havent really discussed the specifics of casting yeat with the person who would do it with me. i might end up just getting the one original and not casting it up. I would just like to give one each to my best friends and it would be awesome having an Iron Warriors one, a Imperial one, and a Khornate one, which are my plans, but if the threat of GW is too much, my friends arent that important and just the one 50-foot tall chaos titan of awesomeness would be alright i suppose ;)

As long as you don't sell it, or use it for some other commercial use, it should be fine, but yeah, just in case, convert it a little.

It would be rather easy to turn one arm into a big power fist or the like.

Another change would be to increase it's size, I'm not sure how your planning on making the molds but if they're scan and form, you can increase the scale by 10% or so because I'm sure the new reavers will be bigger than the old ones. the copies won't match your origional but they would probobly be closer to the new ones. besides, you could just say that the origional is smaller because it's older so they used better, more size efficiant components in it's construction.

the Reaver already has a power fist component, but good idea anyway.

I like your idea barrakus, mainly cos it involves bigger better scarier Titans AND not being sued. both of which are pluses. i'll try that

Or since u said u could scale them buy a epic 40k metal reaver titan and scale it up. Oh and let me know if u get this going ied happly pay for materals postage + a tip.

the Problem ith scaling up epic scale is tat it would have to be a great quality cast, or it just seems too undetailed. i hope to get a armorcast reaver before christmas (yes, a long way away, but those things are EXPENSIVE!) if i did get this going, i would try to find loopholes to send these to people on here who help me if they want one, but GW would likely call the IP exterminatus on me. if i do find a way to send these to people i would love to, but it would have to be very limited lest i risk attracting attention, say 3-5 Reavers.
