Title: Sadness
Kyron - March 15, 2012 09:48 PM (GMT)
Every time I visit this forum I get very sad... Because I remember a time when there was so much activity here and so many new posts every day. Then came the current Chaos Codex...
I really hope the new codex also bring this forum back to life...
Warsmith Gorrched - March 15, 2012 11:02 PM (GMT)
AYE! Though I never was here when it was crazy busy I would like to see more action because...well...its better then talking to yourself haha
Ulfast - March 16, 2012 08:28 AM (GMT)
Iīm also very new here so I donīt know much about the activity but when I read old posts I see that it used to be a lot of activty for a couple of years ago.
But I believe that we can all get it back. Right now it looks promising, with 6:ed on its way and rumour of a chaos legion book (thats us!) so it could all change.
Khargoth - March 16, 2012 08:38 AM (GMT)
I've been gently prodding and poking the forum to try and coax long-time lurkers into posting a bit more, seems to be working ^_^
Ulfast - March 16, 2012 09:53 AM (GMT)
If we work together and bring some intersting topic then perhaps more and more warsmith will stay and come out from the warp to post :)
Dreachon - March 16, 2012 01:05 PM (GMT)
It's the silence before the Storm.................. of CHAOS.
If the new codex is gonna be good rest assured that this forum will burst back with chaotic life.
A serie of new models and new units will also spark our conversion madness.
Ulfast - March 16, 2012 05:49 PM (GMT)
You are totally righ Dreachon, I think this too is the begining of something great :)
jesseye - March 20, 2012 11:39 PM (GMT)
its sad to think i found like minded people, only for the site to become vacant
Ulfast - March 21, 2012 07:20 AM (GMT)
But the last weeks activty has been very good I think. Letīs hope it contuie :D
Khargoth - March 21, 2012 08:32 AM (GMT)
Might be able to liven things up a bit more with some Apocalypse building blog
jesseye - March 21, 2012 08:45 AM (GMT)
i could get on the table and dance.....
Ulfast - March 21, 2012 10:07 AM (GMT)
I hope to post some picture of my army when it has started to get ready. so far mostly build and glued it and made a spray of bolt gun metal. When I get more achievment with them I will try to post them here :) That could help, I always like hobby posts.
jesseye - March 21, 2012 11:27 PM (GMT)
i need to as well, maybe that will pull people back, not mine in particular mind you lol. my old lady gave our camera to my neice for her birthday so ill have to get a new one first, i dont know jack about cameras but luckly she used to be a pro photographer and her uncle still owns a photo studio..... but she already thinks im the biggest dork in the world soooo...
Ulfast - March 22, 2012 08:23 AM (GMT)
I did do some progress yesterday. I have so far clued around 40 chaos space mariens, one rhino and one dread. Nothing is painted but all is glued and polished. Also mos tof them got the basic spray of bolt gun metal (sadly made a small mistake with to much colour so I had to change some heads as it was to much on them). but everything is going great. Next thing is a landraider that need to be finshed and then star painting.
jesseye - March 23, 2012 03:02 AM (GMT)
i got to lookin at mine... have repaint almost the whole army due to damage or in most cases alot of them were painted around ten years ago. problem with some metallic water based colors like old citadel chainmail is the paint fades, loses its omg the shiny!! so they look like black legion... so i have around 200 plus tactical marines and 50 or 60 havoks perhaps 20 characters repairs done on 20 or so tanks.... girlfriend is clumsy... pretty much redo my army. when i quit i was revamping my bases and replacing shoulder pads with the metal iron warrior ones anyway. dropped alot of usless things, gave the old lady my defiler for her worldeaters... i have no terminators!!! i used first edition space hulk termies and recently moved those to my loyallist space marine army. god do i need this many space marines? this will be the third time ive said that and take out 90% percent of the army and then they release new chaos minis....
heres a tip on usin sprays... im amongst many other things a fully trained and certified many times over car painter. when spraying minis or anything else your nateral reaction is to get a full coverage right off. to be honest that is bad. first off the everyone knows rule of hold can 8 inches away, also dont spray your face.... i was hospitalized and almost was blinded by that mistake... also dont drink while using industrial sprayers... anyway heres the trick. spray the mini with a quik coat then wait a couple minutes. the paint gets tacky at this point. when it does your spray covers and sticks much much better. i usually do three really light coats of spray. hence i use krylon metallic sprays which are cheaper than gw but come in almost any shade you want!! BUT WARNING THEY CAN BE THICK!!! LIGHT COATS!! hope that helps so you dont over coat any more. ramble ramble sorry
jesseye - March 23, 2012 03:04 AM (GMT)
BTW a new plastic chaos dread has been seen!!!! rumor is its gonna be packaged in the new rules box!! also that new cultist models to but we will see.
Ulfast - March 23, 2012 07:54 AM (GMT)
A new dread, that was about time. I love our dread that wehave but itīs geting old and it would be nice to work with a plastic one.
Also, thanks for the tip. I have learned my lesson now and next time I will try to be more carefull.
jesseye - March 23, 2012 08:27 PM (GMT)
the dread is ancient. im surprised its still in production to begin with. they must have had to rebuild and repair their molds several times by now.... why they havent makes no sense.
Ulfast - March 24, 2012 11:19 AM (GMT)
Yes, ordinary marine player has had there plastic one for over 10 years now and we still donīt got one. Some times I just donīt know how the people at GW thinks.
Khargoth - March 24, 2012 01:17 PM (GMT)
Considering the prices of GW minis in Australia, I just spend a bit more for Forge World dreads.
Yep.
Ulfast - March 24, 2012 02:32 PM (GMT)
You are right, Forgeworld are not any longer so expensive, instead, almost the same price and there stuff are much better then GW itself.
jesseye - March 24, 2012 06:23 PM (GMT)
actually, there are several plastic loyalist dreads now, only one old chaos metal dread
Loki - March 25, 2012 10:18 AM (GMT)
Give me a Contemptor Dread any given day. I'm actually planning to order two of those juicy dreads and put them in service for my still growing Iron Warriors army. (yes, I've been secretly bolstering the ranks B)) Besides, Scibor has sculpted a nice "Paladin" Contemptor dread look-a-like. Google it. "Templar knights Paladin" or something..
meh, frag it.. a quick facebook searchy on Scibor's FB page;
jesseye - March 25, 2012 07:58 PM (GMT)
scribor has some awesome stuff, im waitin for gws army of lawyers to shut them down :( :(
Ulfast - March 25, 2012 08:27 PM (GMT)
I like scibor too, specially his "goblins and dwarfs". But also his sf things. I had missed that big "robot" and I must say it looks intersting. Specially the head of a templar.
jesseye - March 25, 2012 08:32 PM (GMT)
but a pain to convert to chaos, imagine all the sanding and carving to remove all that detail lol!! btw hello loki.
Ulfast - March 26, 2012 04:55 AM (GMT)
Depends how much you want too. If you play him as a Red corsair you only need to make some lines above the diffrent marks. As for a IF dread, then yes, you need to sand a bit :)
Khargoth - March 26, 2012 05:14 AM (GMT)
Frankly that thing looks horrid. A Dreadknight looks good by comparison...
Ulfast - March 26, 2012 05:23 AM (GMT)
It will be intersting to see one painted, that always make a minature pop.
jesseye - March 26, 2012 06:06 PM (GMT)
still, and yes does look horrid but if you used say black templars then it would be a very nice option. however for chaos it would need so much work dont know if it would be worth the effort....
jesseye - March 29, 2012 06:13 PM (GMT)
yes with great sadness i notice that there are perhaps four of us keeping this forum going. i did notice that there is a new member and that im no longer the newest, but yet the virus has yet to post. im patently waiting for them to do so for im interested in what they must have to contribute to us. plus im a bit of an egotist but im disturbed to sign on to see my name on here that many times!!! man at least comment if just to say man your awesome or you are just plain magnificent!!! or here have cookies.... yes im hungry again, still havent caught up on eating lol. im not truely an egomaniac but im afraid to try signing on and find this no longer here do to no one being interested anymore. btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEELLEGION and MEPHETRAN!!! HAVE CAKE!! even though weve not spoken yet i hope you guys come back soon.
Ulfast - March 29, 2012 07:26 PM (GMT)
Four is a good start, or agood new begining. Soon 6:ed will come and so will the chaos codex. THen this forum will burst with activity.

| yes lets hope. |
Thrust me if the codex is good and the mini's are great we will have a Storm of Chaos unleashed upon this forum, the small tidbits that TDG is giving on warseer have really ignited the fires of chaos inside me and I am thinking about nice new warmachine conversion to bring death upon my enemies.
For myself it will also mean that the 6th will return and make a run for getting 25000 to 30000points fully painted within the next 2 years.
It's gonna one wild rollercoaster ride but it'll be just awesome when done.
Loki - March 30, 2012 05:03 PM (GMT)
The forum already is experiencing a grow-spurth in replies, thanks to Brother Jesseye. You, good sir, are a fine addition to our ranks, and I expect nothing but greatness once you start posting some of your mini's :thumb:
Oh, and hello, Dreachon. how do the pups and Reavie fare?

I haven't done much so the reaver and 2nd warhound are sitting unfinished in their box, 40K has been death to me for the last 2 years but hopefully the new codex will correct that and make continue with expanding the 6th once more, Necros Mortem and Canis Nex will be amongst the first to get finished then.
Ah so many wonderfull plans for new weapon like a Fellreaper tank, Sabre tankhunter and who knows what will codex will spur my creatieve mind.
Loki - March 30, 2012 09:03 PM (GMT)
Aye, I haven't paid much attention to 40k either, besides bolstering the ranks in my ever-expanding 45th Grand Company, and currently I'm preying upon a Contemptor Dread and an Iron Warriors Dread from Forge World.. Animus Messor has been mothballed due to lack of interrest (GODS know why..) so the only army that has gotten som dearly needed love is my Nurgle themed Ogres.
Besides online gaming with friends and Skyrim, I haven't done much hobby-wise.. but rest assured, Loki's back, and I'm currently working on "improving" the Predator design, giving it a much needed purpose-buildt medium battle tank look.
jesseye - March 30, 2012 11:08 PM (GMT)
im gonna make 5000 points of the iron warrior halfling kitchen staff and go dominate the iron chef!!! naw right now im working on just revamping rhinos and go from there. guys thank you much for what you say in regards to me i so shy can you tell?
blahblahblah5038 - March 31, 2012 12:36 AM (GMT)
I'm still an active 40k player, but I haven't played chaos in a long time because the current chaos codex is so bad. Hopefully I'll be more active here if the 6th ed codex actually includes different factions (like my Iron Warriors).
jesseye - March 31, 2012 12:43 AM (GMT)
i actually started playing with other armies but iw were always my love
