I am not a great painter. My love for the hobby is more for the game play and converting minis. However, I did manage to get the core of my Steel Brethren painted. I'll warn you, I am no Heavy Metal painter... not even close. Still, it felt good to get some color on them.

Looking forward to getting more painted, including my Obliterator conversions.

EDIT: Re-sized photos.

I waited a minute for the picture to load (I saw a lot of white)...then I realized it was a pretty big pic. tongue.gif I'd suggest resizing it so it can fit a bit better.

Steel Brethren have always interested me so it is cool to see some. I look forward to seeing your conversions as well! I want to see what you do for your Obliterators.

As for painting may I suggest a wash for their armor?

I did do some black washing on the armor, but not so much as to lose the brightness of the armor. The flash bleached out some of wash effect. But I agree, some additional black wash in the creases would help. As soon as the whole army is tabletop ready, I will go back and touch up.

I'd agree with hushrong that there needs to be some more inking or something done to that silver. Also I think the DP's wings should be a different color, perhaps a really dark color to contrast the silver, make it pop out more if you will. A pleasant start to a IW army if I might say so.

A good start but like the others said some washes or inks to add more depth to the models.

So, how much green stuff should I add?

A lot. You have to keep in mind that the Oblitz are infected by a virus and would be mutated and such. So a lot of GS I think is needed. You've got a good solid base but I would add a lot of GS and possibly some claws onto the power fist to give it more of the chaos feel.
