QUOTE
White Dwarf is being transformed, and its release is only a few days away. I was able to ask a few questions  and here are the answers. The primary question...... Yes, the Chaos Space Marine codex has some photos of it in the White Dwarf. Here is the latest........

Another huge thanks to our anonymous source.
A few points that will hopefully address some of your questions:
WD:
- New format is very nice - matte cover, with semi-gloss embossed type (logo etc)
- New format feels more like a proper magazine, less like a catalogue.
- Still a number of adverts, but they don't feel as intrusive
- New style of photography is beautiful - some amazing new images included, matching the style of the 40k 6th rulebook
- More painting tutorials - though these are quite simple; more geared towards your entry level painter (which for me, being a painter first is a dissappointment)
- I haven't had a chance to properly read the editorial, nor a lot of the content, but gut feeling is the new direction is good.

Chaos Space Marines
- its coming along with the new models - within the next 2 weeks.
- Hard Cover
- Phil Kelly is the author
- Some photos of the 'dex are in the WD, though they're quite small and hard to make out text.
- Lots of background included
- Some beautiful artwork
- Several rules mentioned, including 'Veteran of the Eternal War' (not sure of the specifics as I don't have the WD handy) but from memory it gives a unit fearless (definately not 100% sure on this - might be +1LD) and Prefered Enemy (Space Marines). Cannot say if this rule is an upgrade or universal rule.
- There is a Chaos Boon table, which I believe has been discussed before. When an IC defeats an enemy IC in challenge, they can choose to roll on the table. Looks to be 2D6 (maybe even 3D6) and that IC recieves a boon for the rest of the game. Image of this table is too small to make out what each result is.
- New Maulers (CC varient oblits)

Oh man having just seen the models for the cc obliterators I can honestly say, they are an abomination and not in a good way.
Really was the sculpter for them just retarded or braindead and their also in frikkin crpacast, well no money from me for those things.

The only decent models I'm seeing sofar are the normal raptors and the dark apostle, the rest I have no words for them......let's see what the sculptors have to say for themselevs and i hope somebody is going to question them.

New models

Agree on the Obliterators not to keen on them. Sort of like the old Metal Possessed from back in 2006.
I think I will stay to converting my own once & it why I like collecting Chaos.

Everthing else, I like. Raptor are going to help with my Night Lord army with converting my basic models.

Can not wait, this is better than christmas this month is biggrin.gif

I'm surprised there has been no mention of the cultist yet...as they were in the DV box there is bound to be a new set for them, probaly chosen as well.

I think the new models have too much details. In fact so much details that it just becomes a blur of details. I'm not impressed at all by none of them.

It's going to be interesting to read about the Techmarine, ops sorry, I meant the Warpsmith. Also the Chaplin and Librarian. Ops!! Wrong again.. I really meant the Dark Apostle and the Sorcerer. It's all confusing since I was under the impression that the Word Bearers Chaplins were the only ones that didn't get killed by their brothers and We, the IW, were the technology gifted ones. smile.gif

Well just because Iron Warriors are the best at siege craft doesn't mean all the other legions got rid of their techmarines...I'm happy that CSM have them now.

While yes those characters are similar to their space marine counter parts overall it seems the new book has really made CSM more than just the evil space marines which I'm happy about.

Well, I've just ordered a few things from my LGS. They were happy, I was happy, and my accountant is highly concerned.

Soon I will have a new book, some daemon-engine things, raptors, and blister packs of random guys. What I will not have are mutilators.

@Kyron: Sorcerers are nothing new, you had to expect that. A Dark Apostle IS a Word Bearer Chaplain (there could be exceptions, like a recently turned renegade Chapter keeping their chaplains. This gives players who want a religious army to have a proper choice). Plus, you do not have to have one in your IW army. And when I read Warpsmith I stare angrily at the "p". I'm still happy to have him, he's going to keep all the nasty war machines in the fight.

Also keep in mind you can't take a sorcerer, warpsmith dark apostle and chaos lord...all HQ choices. So for the msot part you'll have your deamon prince or lord general and you can only add in one of those support characters.
