I tend to notice a tendency on this board; whenever someone posts a topic even slightly out of the ordinary, most often referring to Iron Warriors army selection, we usually won't go as much as two posts without a mod telling us not to flame, or the thread will be shut.
And I wonder, why is that? Don't the mods of this site have any trust for the posters whatsoever? Or is it simply a need to show off that we have to be careful or we'll offend someone? My suggestion; get some forum rules down the line. Then instead of utilizing a million pre-emptive strikes, just concentrate on actually maintaining the order that is set by the rules. It would make things a whole lot easier for the mods, I can say from being an admin myself. And it would make it a helluva lot more interesting to actually post radical suggestion without having to feel like you're watched like a fiend because you're not trusted. $0.02 -------------------- Semper Fi, motherf*cker.

I agree some rules wouldn't hurt, but the founder was against it. Since the founder has been gone for quite awhile I'll run it by the other mods, but I wouldn't make a rule telling you to avoid radical arguments, I find such threads to be the most interesting. I don't mind anything radical as long as you can keep yourselves orderly. Now if something is clearly out of line I'll say something but it has been a long time since I had to do that. I think last time was when we had an "IW cheesy?" thread that was getting way off topic, and turned into more of a brawl then a discussion, but that was several months ago.
This isn't the B&C and I don't care what you discuss within reason of course. Obviously avoid discussing things like porn, sex, and explicit material, but for all I care you could discuss politics in the general discussion forums as long as you can keep it civil On the subject of the moderators barreling down on certain threads, well a couple moderators are very sensative about IW army selection, and the ideas of cheese/beardyness. -------------------- |

I think rules would be good. But some topic I know will end in flames so I just ask that people just do not turn in it in to one or it will be shut. Just as you said
Just in my view I do not want this site to turn like B&C where there flame wars everday. Topic that mainly do this are about cheese armies, in my view there none but powerful once. But these topics will alway end in flames. But rules would be good. I just ask that people keep topic civilays (sp) & friendly.
That not just me It just as said I don't want any flameing & as such I ask people to please not do so. As GDT you seen what it like on B&C your self man how there alway flameing none stop be it army list, rule qustion it ever where. -------------------- IW 5th Grand Company record since 04:W-274, L-252, D-123, Games play 649, Best army award GW Glasgow GW 2005, Conflict 02/05 - top 5 best armies, UK GT heat 1 05/06/07/08/09, Medusa V 06, Stirling Rapid Fire 06 2nd/08 4th & 2nd best army/09 8th & best painted army, 40k Radio 08 5thScotland-38thWorld, ELG Rompa Stompa 08, Hobby champion 08, 2nd at ELG Compulsion 09, ELG Counter attack 09 4th &Best army, ToS12-2nd best chaos player+2nd best Army top 8 Army nominee, Armies on Parade 12

Trust has to be earned folks. Given the problems we used to have (and still do to some extent), I don't think it's unreasonable for us to warn people as topics can quite easily evolve into something they were not intended to be.

I agree that there should be some rules, but by the same token, posts that have a tendancy or possibility to turn into flame wars should have warnings or be blocked to prevent this.
But then again, you can trust no one. Im not refering to this forum, merely life in general Greetz -------------------- Wins/Losses/Draws

I've been in a flame war or three and I appreciate the efforts of the mods, they do keep things civil. Thanks guys!
Det Gronne Trollet, thanks for bring up your concerns - they remind us all that we can keep improving this board and keep things cool amongst all members and visitors. Keep asking the questions and pointing out issues, sometimes the majority doesn't notice! Troop -------------------- "Come with me captain and I will show you where the Iron Crosses grow..." Steiner
