Elites Choice Painting and Conversion Competition!, Deadline 31st August

Entries must be a single Elites choice.

Entries must be game legal.

You will need to send in 1 WIP photo if you plan on entering the Conversion side of the contest.

All entries must have 1 Painted photo.

All entries must be PMmed to myself by 31st August.

The voting will be done via a public poll posted on the 3rd September, one for the Conversion and one for Paint Scheme and Originality.

All Forces of Disorder armies are eligable.

Staff members are allowed to enter.

Fluff/background can be included, but it will not affect your entry, wait for the fluff competition for that!

Right, so you can enter any Elites choices from any FoD army. This includes ALL Elites choices, Obliterators, Kommandos, Wyches, Tyranid Warriors, Big Mutants, Immortals, even Elites Special Characters, such as Cypher!

I've given along time before the deadline so that there is NO excuse for not giving me an entry! Voting starts 3 days later instead of 1 because I know for a fact I'm going to be... Unavailable, that weekend.

Woohoo, I think I'll enter one of my now-NERFED Possessed, I have had a lot of fun converting these blighters, so they deserve some kind of fun before they are doomed... Am I allowed to do that, enter a Possessed model, which was designed on the 3rd Ed rules, pre-return of the fethed-up Random Powers?

I think I may enter my obliterator squad ... or my termie squad hmm dicisions...

Even when the new 'Codex' comes out, I'm keeping with the current one we have now, that is from the true golden age of Codexes, before the blight known as Jervis started working on them, Codex: Eldar onwards just went downhill.

Remember, for the Painting Competition, judge on originality, style, and skill, not the model! And for the Convertion Competition, judge again on originality, character and skill, not what model it is, or what it represents.

A note on the Convertion Competition, the image(s) for it must be of an UNPAINTED model.

2 models down, three to go. Then again, I haven't been working very hard on them, but what I've got so far I'm very happy with.

Guitar string, 0.1mm enameled wire, Combat Servitor bionics and easily-chopped-and-modified plastic are the best modeling combination evar...

EDIT: I've suddenly lost a lot of enthusiasm for this project.
I've got the 'Ne(utered)w Codex Blues' again... I know I can enter these guys as a legal 3rd Edition squad, but having randomized tables for their abilities is kinda arse. What I'm most upset about is there's no Wargear options for the Aspiring champion, meaning my conversion for him and my other Possessed Champion are both suddenly very 'all show, no go'. I could have a huge rant about GW right about now, even Dawn of War has lost appeal to me, as with each update the game progresses further and further away, as whiny azns demand that their favorite unit become more powerful at something they totally aren't on the tabletop. I mean, why even bother with GW? I have a $800 pile of plastic, metal and resin on my worktable. Many of my meticulously-converted models are now totally un-spectacular on the tabletop, fill a totally different tactical role than they did before, or simply cannot feasibly meet WYSIWYG, or do so in a totally neutered manner. Khargoth has a big scary servo-arm implanted in his shoulder socket. I somehow doubt I can still make him the walking nightmare he once was, so I'm going to feel disappointed every time he gets into combat, because that big scary model is just all show, a shadow of a former Lord.

I think I'm gonna just down a bottle of Jim Beam, play some Supreme Commander, and go back to dreaming about my Chrysler 300C. So far a $60,000 luxury car, modded out with another $10k in parts (and yes, I can actually afford this in about a year's time) has looked more achievable than actually having a large 40k army that's genuinely enjoyable to play with. Sorry to be so negative folks, but it's kinda hard not to when something you cherish enough to pay ridiculous prices for is dragged through the mud by it's parent company, of all things. GW can go &%$# themselves, they're not getting another cent of my money.

Yes, the contest allows for 3rd (in my opinion, the GOOD) edition Codex entries. So forget the new Codex: Moody Teenage Space Marines for this, and possibly future Codexes.
