OK, this argument came up last night during a game. The Tz demon weapon launches a ranged attack. In close combat, does it still act like a normal demon weapon? I.e. 1d6 power weapon that bites you? My chaos ally was using one and our opponent tried to say it didn't work in close combat. Originally I thought as he did but upon rereading it I opted to side with my partner. After all, the fluff describes it as a sword that shoots fire so it makes sense to me at least that it could be used in hand to hand as well as shooting.

It still works in cc, all deamons weapoins grant 1D6 attacks in cc, if you have a mark they get an extra ability

It also brings in the risk of rolling an extra 1. Which I tend to do a lot with the Death Screamer. But it won't stop me from using it smile.gif
IMO the Death Screamer IS the Kai Gun for the 5th and I don't consider the mk of Tzeench unfluffy in order to use it. The Deamon Weapon is apart of the Lord and grants him extra protection.

When I run it on my Warsmith:

It's easy to explain the 1D6 shooting (gunarm) & 1D6 xtra attacks (servo).
Either way I would still use this DW if it only could shoot. I hope for Pertubaro's sake that they will give us other viable options in the new dex.

Cheers

Even though it's not strictly legal, I run a Daemon Prince with a Tzeentch DW in my Apoc games. I won't go into details about the model or his name, because that's a secret for the time being wink.gif
