[color=blue]We have finally located it. Perturabo and the Warsmith will be most pleased. It feels as if millenniums have passed since we were tasked in searching for the artifact. It is impossible to know for how many eons the device laid dormant in its protective compound waiting for its chance to see day light again. What forces would have even led us to this obscure place in the galaxy for a purpose?
Withdraw orders for our expedition forces on the out skirts of this location were already being followed. Roughly a full company held the objective. On this barren and desolate world, there is nothing to challenge us. One has to wonder what the planet was like when the complex was built to house the artifact. Scout vessels patrol the edge of the system gives the fleet early warning of advancing Imperials. There is an eager anticipation among the companies for action. It has been too long since we had a taste of excitement. The natives on the last world were too primitive to provide any challenges or entertainment to keep the mind sharp.
Orders came to secure the device and prepare it for extraction. Following the orders from the vox communicator, the entire complex started to power on. What seemed to be minor anomalies turned out to be a prelude to our fate? Soon it was also clear why extraction orders were issued for the other Companies. This could have been the fate of any Company which held the honor of finding and securing this place.
The micro machines, which lay dormant on the planet, had been awakened. The power armours offered no protection against these nano-intruders for any of us. The implants that were so potent since the Great Crusade did little to combat the deteriorating situation. It wasn’t long before the entire company was infected.
One company had to be sacrificed to make contact with the device. Their sacrifices will not go to waste. It is only through their melding that communication could be made with the primal consciousness of the artifact. Soon, sorcerers and tech-priests were constructing what is necessary to lament our new pact with these forgotten entities. While they desire companionship, the Iron Warriors desired more effective means to combat the False Emperor’s dogs.
Most of the members in the sacrificed Company degenerated into mindless biomechanical constructs due to the crude joining. Those which survived the joining found their already enhanced physiques to be further magnified by these mechanical nanites.
When the techpriests and sorcerers were finished with the contraption, it was now possible to will these tiny allies to fully comply with our desires. Further joining benefited from customized results and much greater success rates.
We will march as one Legion again. No longer will the sons of Perturabo be spread across the four corners of the galaxies. First, we will have to bring each Company back under the same banner. Some have strayed too far from the path of the Iron Warrior.

Edit by IronWinds. Sorry guys, but the rest of this post basically copied all the rules, stat lines, and points costs for the entire codex. A huge IP infringement. I know it was all under different names, but it wouldn't take someone without a chaos codex long to figure it out. I love what you did though, just try to find a way of expressing your thoughts without using IP related materials.

I cannot believe I have never encounter this forum before... The above is my little spin on the current CSM codex to make it fit my own Iron Warrrior army. I just wanted to share and see if other Warsmiths would approve...

Any comments are welcome.

So, it's basically just the same codex but with different names, kind of a "count as" omnibus?

It's cool, I like it, it's legal, and at least gives some kind of a fluffy feel. Don't get me wrong, I still hate the codex and feel that it should be completely redone, but at least this gives a reason to include non-IW type units in an army. nice work.

Also, welcome to the 4th grand company.

That was the plan...

Everything just seems better with the proper presentation... I still dream the dream of our own Codex though...

'Phaeron vaulted over the barricade and pointed his whirring chainsword at the space marine defenses, "Iron within!" yelled Phaeron and charged at the enemy, bolt pistol kicking in his hands as he fired it. The response came from his squadmates as they thundered along side him,"Iron without!"

Great work though! Not entirely convinced on the Nanite-fluff, but hey, it's still a great job.. thumbsup.gif

Whenever Legions comes out just wait. The codex creep has turned into a lurch. If you think BA/Nids are bad now once Legions comes out we will once again be a hated codex. Its just a cycle, it will come around again haha.

I love the idea... sorry that I had to remove so much of it. Basically a guide to 'counts as' everything in the army as something IW.

I actually use counts as abbadon for my non-statured prince in terminator armor. And for my bionic prince I use a shield for the MoT.

And I hope you are right Gorrched. Hopefully we won't have Gav writing our next codex. Or Matt Ward... the list would be beefy, but the fluff would be thrown out the window and personally I like the fluff.
