"When we ascended to godhood and rose above our own mortality, we thought ourselves blessed. What fools we had been.

And now we, the Iron Warriors, still continue to fight the Long War. We bring to every world and foe tidings of fire & ash, and one day it will consume us as well. There is no doubt, that we are truly damned."

Well slap me on my iron bottocks and call me Master Betty, I just KNEW it was only a question of time before you came on here, Artificer! (it'sa me, FerrumIgnatus from the AdeptusMechanicus Forum)

Have to say, that Land Raider has gotten one darn fine paintjob. Love the weathering, and I'm ESPECIALLY fond of the "oily" effects on the hull.. makes me want to dust off my Land Raider and continue it's "salvation" (rescued it after its previous owner heavily mutilated the poor lass with a modeller's saw)

It's a real pleasure having you here, lad thumbsup.gif

I've got to say, this is probably my favourite IW army out there!
I love the weathering and chipping. Its exactly what my IW lack... sad.gif
That landraider is awesome! very inspirational for my own landraider. I'll have to build it sometime soon.

Great stuff.

Wauw that's a lot of nice feedback guys, thanks a lot! biggrin.gif

The chipped paint is done with a sponge smile.gif

I'll see if I can get an update for this army soon, but no promises.

I feel like hitting myself in the head for not realising that, that is an excellent way to do the chipping.
May I also ask what colours you have used for your gold, I'm looking to redo the gold on my own models to add a bit more depth.

Dreachon@ Yeah sure smile.gif the brass/gold here is painted with vallejo's liquid gold series red gold smile.gif It's an alcohol based metallic paint and it's really great biggrin.gif

jesseye@ I start of with painting the chevrons/ hazard stripes (whatever you guys fancy calling them tongue.gif ) and then I use a sponge, old blister foam will do, and dip it into some paint, wipe most of it off and tap the sponge on the area you want to be chipped. This will leave a random pattern of small "paint chips" all over the area which I then highlighted with a lighter colour around the edge to make them stand out a bit. I used schorched brown for this model, but chardon granite is great as well smile.gif

And now for a small update, it's not directly related to my Iron Warriors, but I'm working on a cityfight table for my local gaming club and I've been making street obstacles to litter the streets. Being a big fan of both Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists (i am also working on a pre-heresy Imperial Fists army) I made this for the table.
