Mine is Fulgrim. It was the first book I picked up, without barely any knowledge of 40k fluff, and enjoyed it.

My favorite thing was reading about how noble, boastful, and proud the Emperor's Children were and how they constantly sought perfection, only to degenerate into pleasure-seeking hedonists devoid of any purity. The best representative of this was the First Captain.

For second place, its a tie between Legion and A Thousand Sons.

Totally agree! Fulgrim is by far my favourite. I enjoyed the ones leading up to it, and some of the ones since, but Fulgrim is just something special.

For me, that special something just seeing them fall.

I need to reread this one, there were a lot of little things I enjoyed about that book.

Flight of the Einstein was also a good one. I read that entire book during a flight across the pacific, so in less than 15 hours...a record for myself when it comes to reading.

There are still a number of ones I need to read but I am really looking forward to a proper novel of Iron Warriors, Imperial Fists, and World Eaters. Maybe Night Lords too.

then you got off the plane having departed from japan and stepping in texas. you must have really felt you traveled the warp huh lol.

ya know i forgot legion, dont know how i could since of all books that one to me just made my head pop, i mean two primarchs. been into the fluff for twenty years who saw that one coming? after the story i started wondering what are the alpha legion REALLY up to? im also wondering if the shields on Horus's ship during the battle of Terra allowing the emperor to board was actually their doing now.

the whole thing though with the revamp of 40k and the sudden interest of gw to divulge in the heresy after all these years of mystery is leading up to somthing you think? i believe the anniversary of 40k is coming up and gw have somthing special planned. wouldnt it be somthing if the lost primarchs showed back up? i feel if they did their might just be another rebellion. but thats speculation only not even a rumor. yea legion was a good book gets my inner conspirator going lol.

It was actually from Minnesota (I think there was a stop at LAX though) to Japan. I went to a half-price books for the first time and saw they had that novel and I picked it up.

Legion was enjoyable and very interesting. I didn't get to see too much of the XX Legion...which was very fitting for their fluff tongue.gif My favorite part, bookmarked in my copy on the shelf, is when one Alpha Legionnaire and the high ranking Lucifer Black find the dead sentry outside the tent where the Primarch *wink wink and the Imperial Army general had met. I just really liked that part.

*I need to read the HH novel about the Raven Guard. I heard it had an interesting bit about the Alpha Legion in it too. Also, for more Alpha Legion love, I liked the faction of them involved in the Siege of Vraks but thats going off topic.

I do not think that the HH series is leading up to anything but the Heresy itself. I think it will be cool when it comes to a close and you can read about the Battle of Terra (i'm sure I didn't miss it, right?). I think it's just filling in more info into this timeframe and all the legions involved with more detail.

Happy Easter to you too. *You should have tried out the new shoutbox added at the bottom. I would have seen it and responded ASAP laugh.gif

And back on topic.

I've missed quite a few of them and need to catch up. The only reason I haven't bought any new books is because that's money I can save for minis. *it like choosing the lesser of two evils.

Aside from Deliverance Lost (the RG book), I want to check out Know No Fear, and the Dark Angel books (because for some reason I just never picked those up years ago).

tales of heresy
age of darkness
first heretic
deliverance lost
fallen angels

would be my top five (not sure of particular order)
i've read them all in order of release so far, and barring descent of angels i thought they have all been fantastic!

loving Perturabo making an appearance at the end of fallen angels!!

"When we ascended to godhood and rose above our own mortality, we thought ourselves blessed. What fools we had been.

And now we, the Iron Warriors, still continue to fight the Long War. We bring to every world and foe tidings of fire & ash, and one day it will consume us as well. There is no doubt, that we are truly damned."

Why not?

*follow my lead guys, if we seem peaceful and act like we just want to talk about it an a civil manner...he may drop his guard.

@Barabas: Siege of Vraks are three books of Imperial Armour from Forgeworld. Look it up on their site or google Arkos the Faithless for some detail.
