This is just the start of my many writings I've got in my head, but the only real Chaos-y 40k themed one that I thought I'd share.

Olympia

Xynone squeezed his weapons tightly in his hands; his power-axe, Emperor’s Will, and his bolt-pistol. Beneath the cold expressionless face of his helmet, Xynone’s lips were tight, his eyes betraying a cold rage. He remembered well, hearing his Primarch told of how their homeworld was in open revolt against themselves and the Emperor.

Turbulence struck the drop pod, yet Xynone did not even blink. His blood flow increased as his choler rose at the mere thought of his old family. They were no longer his family; they were nothing. Nothing but dirt, and carrion walking, that was what they were. They would pay for their treachery. No one could ever understand what he and his true family, his brethren, had suffered on a million worlds for the Emperor, and his own family wanted to undo it all because they were unhappy.

As the drop pod finally struck home in the surface of Olympia, Xynone knew he would show no mercy. He was in a rage fuelled by bitterness and he would not let anyone, man, woman, or child, prove that his legion was weak and incompetent.

The doors burst open, and Xynone strode forth, his steel-colored armor shining orange in the setting sun of Olympia. Children came running over, screaming in delight, and a few in horror, at the steel giants. Men and women stopped what they were doing to stare in amazement. In one motion, Xynone extended his bolt-pistol and said into his squad’s vox channel, “Open fire.”

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Xynone strode through the ruins of his old home, the city-state Xylos. Flames writhed like a serpent in agony across the horizon. A pall of smoke rose, hiding the sun’s warmth. Buildings Xynone had known since birth sat there still, their stones strewn across the street, bolter impact craters painted across them like clouds in the sky. Corpses lay everywhere; dead eyes stared, boring into the setting sun. In the town square, huddling against one another, sat the entire living population of Xylos.

Xynone ground his teeth, and tore his helmet from his head, mag-locking it to his waist. A grimace sat upon his countenance, his gray eyes cold as the armor he wore. Xynone looked through the crowd and met the eyes of his family – they too had gray eyes but theirs looked back at him with terror.

With a snarl, Xynone turned to his adjutant, Sesu, “Bring those ones, there, forward,” he said, pointing towards his own family. Sesu nodded and brought them forward, roughly pushing them down at the feet of Xynone. Turning to the rest of the people of Xylos, Xynone spoke in his most commanding voice quavering in fury.

“For your crimes against us, the Fourth Legio, your benefactors, and the Emperor of All Mankind, I do sentence this family before me to die in order that the rest of you be spared. Know that I do this not for you, but only on the orders of your benefactor, my lord, Perturabo,” Xynone said, as he hit the activation rune for his power axe. Turning towards the huddled forms of his uncles, aunts, cousins, and the rest of his family, he spoke, “In the name of the Emperor and His greatest son, Perturabo, I do sentence thee to die.”

He raised his axe, and brought it down, again, and again. Shrieks of pain rose, but Xynone cared not. Blood splattered his armor, his bare head, and his comrades. Tears stained the eyes of the children as their hero, their uncle or cousin Xynone slew them, a mad, merciless light in his eyes. The men silently met their deaths, hopelessness in their eyes. The women, too, knew it was too late, and hope died in their eyes.

At last, when the shrieks died down, and the spasms of the newly deceased began, Xynone turned to the rest of the population.

Xynone put a finger to his vox-piece in his ear and acted like he was listening. He lowered his hand, and instantly his men opened fire. The massive shells tore through the unarmored forms of men, women, and children with ease. The square ran red with blood, a veritable lake of sanguine fluids.

Truly, the will of Perturabo was done that day.

Comments, questions, thoughts, are all welcome and appreciated!

"When we ascended to godhood and rose above our own mortality, we thought ourselves blessed. What fools we had been.

And now we, the Iron Warriors, still continue to fight the Long War. We bring to every world and foe tidings of fire & ash, and one day it will consume us as well. There is no doubt, that we are truly damned."

Interesting read! Strange reading a line from an Iron Warrior stating the Emperor of Mankind without some form of insult or shouted in rage!

Ahhh, pre-heresy.
