9, 'Errant' armour. The only real difference between Mk IX and VIII, is the front guard. You get one MK IX chest plate with a box of Marines. And the Grey Knights are using a specialised variant of Mk IX.

I just had one of those "The more you know" moments. Didn't really read how the GK had MK IX armor. Mini wise the torso piece is smaller than the CSM and SM one (just tried using the front of a GK torso for a conversion). Their backpacks do look more slick too.

My favorite though is a mix of MK III (torso and backpack) and MK V (everything but the torso and backpack).

Ah, got it wrong, we're up to 8. That's Errant armour.

Anyway, this is Mark 8 "Errant" armour.

Compared to the Mark 7 "Aquila" armour.

You liar and double-poster tongue.gif. Just Kidding.

I believed you, GK seem to have an awesome array of everything. The MK VIII is only different from the MK VII by the torso with the super gorget and differently designed helmet to fit, right?

From what I can tell, there's the gorget, then some exposed tubes and such have been covered, and just small extra armour plates here and there (look at the wrists, for example).

I like how they always bang on about how hard the power feeds to the legs and lower body are so hard to armour. Why not run them down the back of the armour so they're at least a little less exposed, or is that thinkin*BLAM* HERESY!

Whoa! A design that is practical, ergonomic, and not hard to do?

Burn the Witch!

In the Imperium, forward thinking leads does lead to heresy..somehow...we're pretty sure about that!
