When did you become a SW fan?

So when did you become a SW fan?

1996-ish. I don't remember exactly when, but it was around that time that I first saw Star Wars (actually, I saw ROTJ first). I liked all 3 movies of the OT when I saw them, but I wasn't anything but a casual fan until after TPM came out.

Actually, what got me hooked on SW was the SWCCG card game. My cosuin got me into playing it around '97 or '98, but it still took another year or so before I was hooked. :rolleyes:

Around 1989, when I was about 5 years old.

Around the same time and age as the above post.

I was flipping channels, and happend upon the end of return of the Jedi.

The very end of the saber dual with vader, Luke throwing his saber away (the sabers were the coolest thing I had seen at the time) and telling Phillio, oops I mean Palps, that he was a Jedi, like his father before him.

Then my mom changed the channel to Opra.

I love my mom, but Damn her. :P

Around 1994 when I was around 3 years old. My unle gave me a taped ANH, but I was only supposed to borrow it. I watched it and the instant I saw that Star Destroyer I was hooked. Thinking about it now...I never gave him that video back untill a couple of years ago!

1997, Special Edition release, I was 6. Been hooked ever since :)

I was a mild fan the first time that I really saw the movies, which was when I was about 6, so probably around '89. It wasn't until several years later closer to '96-'97 that I really got into it. What did it for me was getting involved with the SW:CCG and realizing completely how wonderful of a universe the SW place really is and how intricate the movies really are.

From there I got into the books. I read pretty much all of them up until about 2 years ago when I found the authors lacking decent stories and denounced most the EU as garbage.

Then the second wave of fandom hit me when I learned about Fan Films and decided to start thinking about how to make my own, which led into the video games, costuming, etc..

I never saw the Original Trilogy until last year.... I liked Star Wars when I saw The Phantom Menace but didn't really 'get into' Star Wars till I saw Attack of the Clones in theaters..

My dad started getting me hooked on Star Wars a few years before The Phantom Menace theatrical release. He was a huge Star Wars fan ever since the original, and so I inherited his various trading cards and such. B)
