The only good books in literature is the EU. This is what I call High Literature. Everything else is below it. For thousands of centuries literature built up and finally we got the EU, the only books worth reading.

Do you agree?

Well all I ever read is the EU, so I guess I'll have to agree.

are you guys serious?

if you like the EU, you should definately try out other sci-fi, fantasy and fiction stuff

my favorites are:
snow crash - by neil stevenson - a great cyberpunk novel
neuromancer - by william gibson - the defining cyberpunk novel
a game of thrones, a clash of kings, a storm of swords - by george r r martin - a series of absolutely awesome doorstopper fantasy (though heavily historically influenced) books
mortal engines, predator's gold - by phillip reeve - some incredibly written, creative, post-apocalypse steampunk books

EU has gotten out of hand. The authors are taking way to many liberties and unfortunately, it gets called canon now which pisses me off. I could write better crap then half of them.

Now to be on topic: I don't do a lot of reading either, but there's one author I follow. Terry Pratchett. Best author ever. Comic fantasy genre that parodies everything from poiltics to quantum physics, all while telling the most entertaining stories I've yet to read.

i'm pretty neutral on EU. i've read some of it. i tried to catch up w/ the current books, but i just have too many other things to do and only made it to "i, jedi." i like most of what i read, but it really irritates me when authors recycle dialogue from the films.

when i do get the chance and inkling to read non-school stuff, it's mostly modern political commentary type books.
