Title: Altezza Instrument Cluster With Aussie Speedo?

T - June 3, 2010 05:29 AM (GMT)
i have just recently bought an aussie delivered is200 sports luxury & have also purchased a rs200 z spec 1/2 cut (complete with diff, tailshaft etc) to put into it.

just wondering if anyone has attempted to fit the aussie speedo into the jdm instrument cluster or not??

i'm yet to pull a cluster apart to see how integrated it is - it might be specifically designed to stop tampering of course......

Ah- nice idea!

are you in WA, and

how much did the 1/2 cut cost??

I think its the engineering hassles that stop this from happening more. A few guys in rollaclub are putting the motors into old Corollas, as they will have to get them fully engineered no matter what they put in.

no i'm in vic.

i got a good deal on my 1/2 cut (ie not telling)
it came with the whole jdm driveline inc aftermarket exhaust

i understand about the number of pules per/km thing - looks like i'll have to pull the instrument clusters apart & look at the circuit boards

Why not just put the JMD cluster in as it is? If you got a manual half cut the speed signal comes from the gearbox, so will need the matching speedo

well i'll be doing that anyway... but just wondering if i can swap the speedo over - to be looked into!

old topic but how did you get along with this? I've been thinking the same too and Japan sell the lexus speedo on it's own too.
