Hey everyone, iv got a new pilot bearing clutch and pressure plate in my car i did all the work myself, but i completly forgot to lube the shaft where the bearing sits, and it squeals when my foot is off the clutch, it has it moments sometimes it stop when the car has been running for quite some times also even when i pump the clutch, does anyone know what i could do to stop this squeal without having to take the gearbox or engine out, would bleeding the clutch line help this? When i sit my foot on the clutch lightly the squeal stops! its just a pain in the arse when going threw town.

So is that the bush in the end of the crankshaft, or the thrust bearing that pushes the pressure plate off the clutch plate??

Neither of them need grease in theory, they are both sealed ball bearings. I remember this problem came up some time ago, and I think the Altezza doesn't have a spring to pull the arm back off the pressure plate, so it just touches it like the disc pads on the rotors.

Sadly I can't see any way around it apart from taking the box out and trying a touch of grease on the thrust bearing face, or to fit a spring & a stop that keeps the bearing a few mm off the pressure plate.

yes sorry my bad, the thrust bearing not the pilot bearing, hmmm yeah maybe im just going to have to take the gearbox out i guess, the no spring on the fork, i wonder if i can reach up through the hole with a greese gun and slightly put some on the shaft without it getting everywhere?

Mine did that for ages. You can get to it with a greese gun through the boot at the bottom but it doesn't last forever and it came back once a month ish with me doing 700-1000km a week. In the end it pissed me off enough to take the box off lol but up to you.
