Title: Driveshaft Loop And Certification.

I am going to take my Altezza in for certification soon as i finally get it back. While there it will be done for the mags, Turbo Conversion, Exhaust and adjustable suspension.

Can i get away from having a drive shaft loop or will I need one installed for the cert?

You shouldnt need a safety loop, as your mods dont fall into the explicit categories that make them mandatory for LVV certification. Some certifiers may insist on one being fitted, but you can and should challenge them on it.

I wasnt required to add one when certifying the same modifications as you.

And he hates jap cars he made me do drive shaft safety loops and heaps of crap ended up costing me over $800 by the time he picked stupid stuff out. Got to Wayne nice guy and is reasonable.

i had to put them in to get my cert, but it cost me nothing to do as i did it myself and just used scrap material from work to make them. tho it was a pain in the f@#ken ass doing it under axil stands!

$800 to have them done sounds very excessive!

You can buy pre-made universal ones for cheap:

$800 is what it cost me going to this guy cause he picked up on more than one thing that wasn't up to his standard.. that wasn't just for the safety loops. The rear one is a pain in the ass if you do it to the specifications they ask because the fuel tank goes around the drive shaft and there's nowhere to bolt it to.

Well took it for a cert today $420 dollars for the cert and failed on driveshaft hoops. Have it booked in for monday another $500 blown to get the hoops made and fitted.. Dangit...

I got through my cert without needing hoops but have heard of some inspectors requiring them,

Your better off buying a universal one and either fitting it yourself or just get a workshop to do it, shouldnt be more than an hour or two labour
