Title: Glue Or Tape?!

JIMKRAZTEZA - February 10, 2012 10:35 AM (GMT)
As everyone on my facebook can see that i now own a full leguna kit but the side skirts are just held on by 2 screws which i know will fall off in time ...

i got double sided tape from the panel shop but it was crap.. didnt stick at all so im wondering to all those people with same sideskirts as me how the held on and is anyone able to take a close up picture of their side skirts or even arrange a time so i can even look in person as to how it sits on the car..

Located in Christchurch

much appreciated!

Jimmy

ITs held on by a very strong automotive double sided tape. and about 8 screws either skirt

The ones that are factory fitted with sideskirts have the anchors in the underside in the right place for the skirts to bolt on, then has some double sided tape under the front edge to stick it to the guard. Also believe the top rubber edge part has some adheisve properties to it as well.

The ones that arent factory fitted with sideskirts appear to not have the same anchoring parts fitted to the underside of the car. dont know why, but seems pretty odd.

Made my own mountings with rivnuts fairly easily though.

Yea pretty much, I had taken my side skirts off my IS200 to put on my altezza and it was fitted by Lexus of Adelaide, 8 screws (same as on your underbody pannels) with a rubber double sided tape running along the top to keep it flush. Real pain in the arse to get the tape off, ended up taking it to a detailer and it came up beautifully.
