Title: Altezza Oem Rear Suspension
BlackDiamond - March 19, 2012 12:23 AM (GMT)
Hi Z-gurus,
I have found that one of my Altezza's rear strut is leaking some oil out now,and I can clearly notice the noise from rear if I drive through holes or bumps.
From my understand that Altezza has a slight different suspension set up as IS200 and IS300, the altezza suspension set the car lower and has slightly harder spring than lexus ones, right ??
By the way, has anyone got a spare set of rear struts ? or just the passenger rear side ? or after market ones ?
I am keen to get this done as soon as possible.
Thanks

Why not just go for genuine new items?!
RRP - $190.00+GST each
STD members - $171.00+GST each
VIP members - $142.50+GST each
Lifetime membership fee of $30.00 would save you $32.78 incl GST so would be a mindless option for new shocks :D

Thanks for the tip. One thing that I forgot to mention, I am in Sydney, so it is harder to find the OEM locally, therefore I choose to find someone around here who can help me for a quick fix. Ideally I hope that I can upgrade to a better suspension set up.
Can anyone recommend which after market coilover is good for altezza drive who only use for daily road use but not track, and prefer performance with the same comfortability as from OEM ? I have been hearing that the HKS ones are pretty good, are they really are ? How about Teins or Cusco ?
Cheers :D

Im from sydney and I order from nick all the time. Very valuable addition to the club. VIP membership not only allows you to purchase items at a highly discounted rate it also allows you to start new threads (this is probaly best suited to the handling section yea??) ... Regardless I have tein type flex coil overs, HKS dont have alot of aftermarket support where Tien have alot of people who rebuild these shocks in and around sydney, Type flex, cusco and hks coilovers might be a touch over kill for you but you could definetly benifit from the lowwer end Tien range like the super street ect
Aside from that I can pretty much say that if you ordered a part and had it shipped to your door it would still be cheaper then going to pick it up from lexus....

Thanks winnie for the advise. I believe Nick will do a good job for everyone here. I will consider my options and make a decision quickly.

I've got a set of Konis sitting in the garage if you want to PM me about them. Adjustable height and stiffness.
Orange is 4hours from Sydney if you want to pick them up..

If I am right, altezza share the same strut with IS200, but just the spring rate is different right ???
note: Have anyone who has a spare rear set of struts from either altezza or is200 ?
