Title: Fog&back Lights...
Description: Question :)
*teez-ya* - April 13, 2012 07:29 AM (GMT)
Hey, just wondering if anyone has had to replace their fog and back round lights before?
My fog lights aren't working (when I try to turn them on I hear a click behind the dash but no light?).. I don't know whether I just need new bulbs or it's something else..
Also the back circle lights on the boot, are these expensive, can I do it myself? (novice)
Are these things expensive to fix?
Um.. thanks!! :)

Do you have your headlights on as well ? Fogs don't work unless headlights (parkers?) are on.
Stops the bogans who run around with fogs on all day when there is no fog to be seen...

Lol, yes my lights are on when I try - I'm not that thick :P
I was thinking it may be a fuse or something? (if that's even possible?)
And the bogan thing - is this cause I'm a westie haha?

Yes check fuses first. Just pull pull them all out one at a time and replace any blown ones.
As for rear fog lights did they work before?

Not too sure if the fog lights at the back worked.. i thought these were brake lights?
They weren't working when I bought the car...
I'm taking the car to an auto electrician today and he can have a nosey and hopefully fix.
Thanks for your help :) much appreciated!!!

Fog/bake/Parker can be wired to suit needs.
At a guess Id say your car came from factory without the lights in there.

the spotlight fuse is in the passenger foot well and it has them all marked out on the back of the fuse box cover so it should be easy to find

Like supertezz said, the fuse for the fog-lights is in the passenger side kick-panel. I would assume that unless your car has had the rear fog-to-brake light conversion done (there is a DIY here on the forums somewhere), your rear and front fog-lights won't work if that fuse is blown. If the DIY is done, then I assume that the rear fogs would then run off the rear brake light fuse??

Hey.. thanks for all your suggestions! :)
Had my bro/auto-electrician look at it today... blown bulbs in the front fog lights, and the back were not connected because the bulb is clear, which makes the light white.. (probably could have looked at this myself, my bad)
Soo.. my next question is, does anyone know where I can source RED bulbs for the circle brake lights from? (the ones on the boot :))
I was told that they typically only come in clear and orange??
If red can't be ordered/found then I might have to look at getting red coverings for them? Seems as though the person before me decided to change the coverings to clear/black tinge and then realised that white light at the back is illegal and disconnected the wires.
So any suggestions here, I think wreckers would want to sell me the entire boot lid and I don't want that haha..
Have a great night :)

Give Ross a yell at
http://www.ledbulbs.co.nz/ Pretty sure the rear fogs are T10 bulbs. If he hasn't got any, then there are heaps available on TradeMe. If you do want to replace the clear rear fogs with reds ones, these also pop up on TradeMe from time to time. Usually around the $30-$50 price bracket :-)
