You got your Altezza.
You were so excited to start modding it up.
You want to put your extraordinary aftermarket stereo in it
BUT
You have got the factory Super Live Sound System installed in it :o
and that you need to somehow bypass the factory "amp" to connect all cables to your headunits.
This write up might help you! :P
PS: I'm not gonna explain how to remove factory deck. The search system and Google will help you with that. ;)
------------------------------------------
Some stuff that was required:
- OEM Stereo Fascia kit (Go ask xnickx for the real deal. Not some cheap plastic on TradeMe)
- Factory Amp bypass cable.

(Can be found easily on TradeMe in NZ. I got mine from Jonvy Autostore.)
- Positive screwdrivers, small spanner (forgot the size)
- Time, guts, and patience.
- Small arm would be very handy
------------------------------------------
It was a pain to install. And it took me about 3 hours at night trying to figure out how to get it all done until I found out that this thing is supposed to connect to a harness by the amp. AND IT WAS HARD TO GET.
There might be simpler method out there, but this is how I did it with mine.
This might be useful for people who wants to install aftermarket headunit by themselves and save some money on installation. Or else I'd have spent $80 :PFirst, open the glove box. Tried to slide both pins on the side to get out from the gap. (Dont worry to force it a bit. It's not gonna break that easily).
And then,

and remove the glove box.
Now you should be able to see the amp.

The objective is to get to the harness that is attached behind the amp. And to do this, I had to remove the passenger kick panel.
This can be done by removing the fuse lid

Then pull out the whole kick panel

You might have to remove the side-sill (?) as well tho. Easy stuff.

My arm was not flexible enough. I had to try unscrew the amp from it's place. There are two bolts. One bolt is locatd just under the glovebox, and one visible bolt just on top of the amp. (It's been removed in the 2nd pic.)
This was the HARDEST part. I tried to move my arm to get behind the amp.
You might notice that there are several harnesses there.
Try to find the big harness

.
and unplug the original male harness from the amp. This connects to the amp bypass cable.
- Glass of water was the handiest thing!... to drink! -
After that, the rest of the job was easy. Wire up the cable behind the glove box... box. Wire it to the back of your fascia.

Once done, just put back all the panel and the glove box and start working on the headunit. ^_^
