Does anyone in Melb know of a good Auto Electrician that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
Want to get someone to check to make sure everything is earthed properly or power is flowing ok throughout the car.
Car rev up and down a little as i come to a stop. mainly when i am coming to a stop and clutch in and brake. If i just clutch in and not brake the rev drops normally
I ended u getting a set of earth grounding kit on ebay. after installing it, problem solved...for one night. this morning when i started up the car it just starts reving again by itself...

reset ecu and the reving stops..but after driving for a little while it comes back
So I am lead to believe I missed out on earthing something......

or can someone provide me some pointers on what to check?

mmm doesnt sound like a electrical fault to me... How old are your spark plugs? Have you checked your coil packs for corrosion? Or mabie your maf is dirty.

The reason it might fix itself when you reset the ecu is because its re learning. same goes for when you installed the earth kit because its relearning AFM.

might also have a vacuum leak too, who knows but an auto electrician wont help you out much. I would take it into a performance shop, someone who knows thier toyotas

I'd tend to agree with winnie, sounds like a vacuum leak. The braking system is linked to the vacuum assist system (and thats about all I know :D ) but have a read here http://www.ehow.com/facts_7683857_cars-vac...ssist-line.html see the bit on leakage... rough idle etc.

mmm could have been damaged already. More the likely to be a vac leak though
