I'm in. Pick a date and keep updating your first post with details. If you pick a date then people will commit, if you leave it up to "the group" then no one will decide!
How about Auckland Anniversary Day?

Hey there.
Thanks for the message and invite. I'll check my calendar but should hopefully be able to attend. I havent had an Altezza for sometime but will probably come on my bike if only a local event.
-DC- - January 12, 2008 12:21 PM (GMT)
Is this going to be a noon or afternoon/evening event? The gas cookers in one tree hill are pretty decent; but you'll need someone to get there quite early to hog em, otherwise they'll be taken. being a public holiday and if the weather is good, i'm sure we'll have competitors racing to the bbq's as well.
if you're planning on using the fire bbq's, be sure to bring some firestarters (those packet cubes you can buy), and some firewood to start off the fire, as the firewood there is usually too damp and thick to start a fire with (or even keep the fire going sometimes).
Greenlane foodtown is only 5mins drive away so if everyone brings money and you get a headcount early confirming at least a handful of numbers, u can bring enough food to start off then organise someone to pop down to foodtown if more is needed :)
You might also want to devise a plan B, incase the weather isnt too impressive :)
Lonedog - January 12, 2008 12:51 PM (GMT)
Hey all, long time no ..err..type?
I should be available to grace you all with my presence

DC, i was more thinking towards the electric cookers cos its more simple. what do you tHink ?
and i will think of a plan b tonight just encase :P
well im going to head down there about 11.30 and we all meet up there at 12.
if someone can bring some food from home, that would be great and some meat or something would be great
Shuks - January 13, 2008 10:28 AM (GMT)
Who is from East Auckland, should we meet up somewhere in Howick or Pak and cruise all together to one tree hill?

Ah yes, sorry I meant electric and not gas cookers :P
I hate to make someon wait there way too early; but if me and my friends wanted a bbq we'd get there to hog the stations before 11am ish.... Of course we'd be doing something to pass time though.
Last time I was there, (which is quite a while now, around march last year) one of the cookers were slightly bung- kept turning itself off. dont know if they fixed that by now.
Electric cookers are definitely the go though. ALOT less hassle and less smokey clothing >_>
Plan B could be to go either to New Market or Panmure/Mt Welly for some laserstrike and games of bowling :) (though New Market only has bowling).
Pity it wouldnt be a night event, otherwise the parking building which the bowling alley is above, is like $2 parking all night; and being indoors would make a good spot for everyone to check out each others cars if it was wet.
Panmure/Mt Wellington only has outdoor parking.
blitzNUR - January 13, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
anybody got a rugby and soccer ball that they can bring :)
twstd - January 13, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
