Weve got two long weekends coming up who's up for a drive around the Waikato ?.
No plans other than to leave from Hamilton and at moment the only thoughts i have are to hit a few of the local beaches.

Another thought is a coast to coast run. Breakfast on one side of the island then dinner on the other <_<

It is aprox 180ks over backroads and hiways the maps tell me about 2.5hr's i reckon it will be longer.

Good idea! Especially the Coast to Coast.. you could have some nice roads in there!

Ok my toughts are at the moment Sunday the 25/1/09 that gives everybody a day before to get the jobs done. And for those of us up this end of the world the day after to sleep in and clean the car and relax.

Or the 6/2/09 (waitangi day) there may be more sites to see. And because i want to go to the hydroplanes on Karapiro on the 7th and 8th.

Was thinking about brunch 10am ish at raglan then leave and head to Whangamata thru some backish roads.

Keith if you have the name of a cpl of good ones that would be a help.

I don't know how many k's or what length of time this is

Love the idea Muzza. Unfortunately I have uni. Being summer school it is all cramped. So thats in the middel of tests + assignments, and well only a few days before my exam. Have to give it a miss this time.

Hopefully be able to make it to another upcoming event.

I'm still keen but my car cut out on me this morning on my way to catch my ferry... I'll see how it goes on Saturday when I come over on the ferry back to Auckland, but might have to pull out if it continues to be a problem. Will keep you all posted.

Passed all you guys in the Karangahake gorge on my way home to Tauranga from the nats. Turned around and tried to catch you guys but got stuck behind some prick transporting alpacas that was going 40km/hr through the gorge and not using slow vehicle lanes :(.
