bengerman - June 4, 2009 07:59 AM (GMT)
Hey guys.i had a full Clarion setup in my old car by Atomik Audio down here in Dunedin.i had a Clarion headunitClarion headunit running 2x12" clarion subs off Clarion 400watt amp and the sound was great. i took it all out before selling it a few days ago and was hoping to install into my new 2007 camry but running off the stock head unit.i am planning to get a LOC from Jaycar to get RCA inputs for the amps.

just to confirm that this setup in my new car would be ok and wouldnt cause any electrical problems or fires:) would love to receive any advice.

btw,the headunit is for sell if anyone's interested.still has warranty.got it installed 3/09.will provide receipts as well.thanks

mmm your on an Altezza forums asking advice about a Camry...

You wont run all that gear from your stock head unit there is a way and a means but you wont get far considering MOST dont have a clue about this car's electronics. As mentioned earlier this is an Altezza forum we know nothing of these soccer mums cars... :P

its possible man, at my work we installed 2 amps, one for speakers and one for subs off factory head units, we have done a 07 Camry and the heaps of the new Mazda's and a few Altezzas as well, we have done a lot of them. Do it thru Hi-level input and link the amps if i remember correctly.

thanks man.so by using hi-level input u mean just T tap into speakr wires and connect to amp?i am planning to use the amp to power the subs only at the moment.thanks!!

Pickup your signal for your LOC from the speaker output from the back of the deck.

Would prob spring for a slightly better LOC than a Jaycar one. Maybe a Peripheral SVEN-4 or something similar.

The Peripheral LOC will give you a switched output also for your amp turn-on.

If you dont use the Peripheral LOC you can pickup the amp turn on from any switched output. Acc etc. BUt you may wont to delay the turn on signal to prevent turn-on 'pop'
