Details about the Halo's:
-Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps, with Ni-Cu electrodes,
-Glass lamps are protected by a polycarbonate serrated cover,
-Aluminium backing,
-High voltage silicone wires with PVC tube protector,

These kits also come with the latest v.2 Inverters, they are self-current-allocating smart inverters. They are designed to have minimal radar interference, anti-OBC error (which doesn't apply to our vehicles anyway) and anti-PDC. These inverters are a lot better than previous version that I have dealt with.
Colour Temperature: 7000 +/- 200 (K)
Current: 5.0 +/- 0.5 (A rms)
Output Voltage: 1400 +/- 10% (V rms)
Lumen Voltage: 700 +/- 10% (V rms)
Frequency: 40 +/- 10% (KHz)
Wattage: 3.5 +/- 10% (W)
Brightness: 32000 +/- 10% (Cd/m^2)
Input Voltage: 12-14 (V dc)
Life Time: 15000 (Hr)
Overall, they are very well designed kits and have a very high build quality, compared to other sets that I have dealt with.
Update: These kits now come with waterproof connectors, below is a comparison between "normal" (left) connectors and the waterproof (right) connectors.

More pictures (the rings pictured are not for the Altezza/IS)

The connectors on the ring end do not come fully assembled to enable easy installation, once installed in the headlight the waterproof connector can easily be attached by following these steps.
These kits also come with a 6 month warranty.______________________________
I'm currently based in Hamilton, New Zealand. Postage for headlights is usually ~$13 (Within island), ~$22 (Nation wide), foglights fit perfectly in a H1 weight-to-go box at $3.90, but obviously can fit foglights into headlight packaging if needed. These prices are all 1-3 day delivery, but other options can be arranged.
The turn around for these services from when the lights arrive at my place is usually overnight, but the more that you want done the longer it will take, obviously.
*Also if anyone has any damaged lights (heads, tails or fogs), I might be able to take them off your hands. In particular I'm after the internals/reflectors. PM me and we can work something out.*

Thats something I'm currently working on, but at the moment its not really a feasible option for me to supply them (will cost the same as the sets advertised on TradeMe). Every source I have tracked down and talked to seems to have the IQ of a damp towel...
I'm working on it :)
SilentOne - November 11, 2009 10:40 PM (GMT)
ThunderChicken did a great job on my headlights - turned out awesome.
Will be hitting him up soon to do my fogs :)
oriphin - November 11, 2009 11:41 PM (GMT)
Definitely worth the money, did mine recently and it took hours upon hours, mind you i restored the plastic as well but for $60 worth getting you to do it imo
JohnnyGT - November 13, 2009 08:56 AM (GMT)

Yeah that was the plan.... helps if you remember that you bid on something and follow up on the bidding.... oh well, busy weekend :)
Sorry don't have any spare parts at the moment.

Anyone in Brisbane or Australia that also do this?
ThunderChicken - November 28, 2009 07:24 PM (GMT)
Yup sure can :)
Only thing being that I haven't before and I have no idea about shipping, if anyone can chime in and point me in the right direction that would be great... or if you know what to do :)
TNT200 - December 3, 2009 05:03 AM (GMT)
I surely you can ship them via NZ Post as i have bought some big stuffs from NZ to Oz...ie strut bar, coilover
Here is the example of how much it cost with 10kg parcel, just fill in the details
Hope this help, let Oz members know the outcome at your end...

ThunderChicken - December 3, 2009 06:10 AM (GMT)
Yeah thanks for that.
Here's what it spits out for the Headlights; (5kg, 500mm x 200mm x 340mm)

Nick, who do you use for all your international dealings?

| Nick, who do you use for all your international dealings? |
Mainly the guys you got there :P
NZPost's International Economy is actually Courier Post EMS service. Probably the best option to go for as it's trackable and unsured. And seems to get to Australia generally within 2-3 days
ThunderChicken - January 15, 2010 01:50 AM (GMT)
Thanks Nick.
Alright team, time for an update.
I have added tail lights to the range of services that I am offering. Details as follows,
Taillights:Painting: Black(satin) (Other colours + $10)
- VIP: $150
- non-VIP: $170
Note that these prices are a reflection of the blood, sweat n' tears that I have put into getting this to a level at which I am comfortable and happy to offer it to you guys. It takes twice as long, twice as many consumables and requires a lot of patience to get them right...
Also if anyone has any damaged lights (be it heads, tails or fogs), I might be able to take them off your hands. In particular I'm after the internals/reflectors. PM me and we can work something out.

First post updated, will add more pictures soon.
More updates to come in the next couple of weeks :)
Cheers.
Boss - January 18, 2010 11:22 AM (GMT)
Mr ThunderChicken,
if i was to bring the car up to you instead of taking my lights out could you do halo's for my car?
how long does it take to do?
ThunderChicken - January 18, 2010 07:04 PM (GMT)
Hey,
Yeah I can do that. Just the halo installation would take about 2 hours, maybe a bit more, taking into account the time needed to remove the lights etc.
Let me know what you think,
Cheers.

Hey guys and gals,
Finally found a decent source for CCFL Halo's, so I have ordered a few sets and they have just arrived.
Here are some of the details about the kits;
-Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps, with Ni-Cu electrodes,
-Glass lamps are protected by a polycarbonate serrated cover,
-Aluminium backing,
-High voltage silicone wires with PVC tube protector,

In my experience they are similar to the Halo's that Nick linked to before, but the rings have a slightly better design and higher build quality.
These kits also come with the latest v.2 Inverters, they are self-current-allocating smart inverters. They are designed to have minimal radar interference, anti-OBC error (which doesn't apply to our vehicles anyway) and anti-PDC. These inverters are a lot better than previous version that I have dealt with.
Colour Temperature: 7000 +/- 200 (K)
Current: 5.0 +/- 0.5 (A rms)
Output Voltage: 1400 +/- 10% (V rms)
Lumen Voltage: 700 +/- 10% (V rms)
Frequency: 40 +/- 10% (KHz)
Wattage: 3.5 +/- 10% (W)
Brightness: 32000 +/- 10% (Cd/m^2)
Input Voltage: 12-14 (V dc)
Life Time: 15000 (Hr)
These kits also come with a 6 month warrantyNow to the important part, price!
I am willing to let these 5 sets go at the prices listed below but I don't know if I will be able to get them in again at this price,
Halo's/Angel Eye's:VIP: $XXX
non-VIP: $XXX
And of course there will be discounts available if you get me to install them.
Updated first post.
Edit: Currently out of stockCheers,
Cody
