Hey guys

Just a quick repost on how things went and Road and Race Performance today.

Great clean workshop with some very nice corvettes and a GTS commadore (not my thing but still cool)

Peter took good care of my work wheel whilst doing the wheel tyre fitment and then to the car for a quick test drive round the block to see what the current ride was like.

He then when through the process of cleaning up my crazy amounts of camber (also made some good suggestions on how to fix some things that were annoying me on the car) Also fixing up my toe to provide better tyre wear etc.

He then took the car for another test drive round the block, made a few more small changes. The took the car round the block again and another few small changes untill he was happy smile.gif

End result:
Car handling now is bloody amazing, my bump steer is all gone, i am not scrubbing over every tiny little bump and the grip from the toyo r1rs is amazing i can not make them slip! Will be buying another 2 from Steve/Beau in about 3-4 weeks for the front!

He also had some funny stories about the people of a certain culture that bring their stuffed up cars their with chopped spings and cracked suspension HAHA

That's good to hear. They're not far from us. Can I ask what they charged?

Certainly smile.gif

Alignment: $100
Remove a Tyre: $5
Fit a Tyre: $5
Dispose of a Tyre: $5
Balance a Wheel: $15

So all up to fit 2 new tyres and balance the wheels and get a full alignment (all up 2 hours of work) it was $160, a bit more expensive than your normal tyre jockey but the advise and job he did was well worth the money paid. smile.gif

Shane has also taken his car in to Peter so im sure he will speak up (Shane recommended him to me)

Yes Peter is the sort of no BS kind of bloke that has a good rep for setting up raod and race cars.

Just the fact that he actually takes the car for a drive after alignment goes to show the effort he takes. Your local Jane Bob would stick it on an alignment machine make a few adjustments that is stipulated in a workshop manual and bam done.

I also noticed a lot less bump steer after Peter had aligned my car, which not only makes the car better to drive, but also gives the driver a lot more confidence to drive.

Did he start up the corvette for you? He took it for a blap when I was there around the block, sounded awesome!

Didn't start the vette but he did have a ford track car there running ethanol with a exhaust straight out the side, never heard a 6 so loud! smile.gif

Yeh work wheels are bloody good,

Not sure what weights i have ill have to check!

I was happy to pay 160 for the work done smile.gif No wanker manager telling me he cant do my car today wink.gif HAHA

Should have told me when i asked you if you knew the name of that alignment joint!!

Deffinatly get r1rs the grip is insane and yeh they look tough as! the side walls are square so even though i have 225s on a 9" it looks like heaps less strech that when i had 235s on a 9".

only downside is the 140 treadwear... still better that the 100 tread wear of r888 or the 50 tread wear of full track semi's wink.gif

Also you will find that the r1rs are really light for a tyre, it all helps when it comes to rotating mass!

I'm due for a wheel alignment and may consider going to Road and Race Performance.

Anyone else used their services?
