Went for a nosey at a couple of Altezzas at these 2 car yards, both were advertised as "Ltd" edition Altezzas but when I had a look under the hood the silver tag that is usually on the firewall that gives you all the details on what model it really is was not there, just two holes where it used to be. I don't know if it's legal or not but definately dodgy, I wouldn't buy either of them just for that reason alone.

Neither of the cars seemed to have any features that were any different to my RS200Z except for the bodykit on one and the elegance lip on the other.

Definately not good! I wonder if the fraud laws would work there- they would need to prove its an LTD series if they advertise it as such.

There is no reason to remove that plate other than a fraudulent one.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, I've seen a few Altezzas advertised on trade me since I bought mine that have seemed a little suspect but no plate is pretty dodgy.

Chassis number will be stamped into the metal in the engine bay somewhere, I'm sure xnickx can get you some of the information from that if you're really that interested, but you probably aren't now anyway ;-)

My car originally came from Coventry Cars in wellington. The lady I bought it from got it from there. It had the lovely website advertisement still on the back window.....Got rid of that pretty quick.

My silver tag is still on so maybe they have changed the way they try and get rid of their cars these days hahaha.

laugh.gif I bought my Altezza from Wholesale Cars Direct (the old yard) it still had it's silver tag on it too, that was a little over a year ago now. It wouldn't be the 1st time a car yard tried selling something that was a little suspect or even tried selling a car when they didn't even know what motor was in it but who knows maybe they came into the country with no tags, I'm kinda tempted to go back and ask but as I'm not going to buy it's probably not worth the hassle.
