Hey any one tried to replace the material or got it replaced by a re upholster? It felt greasy so gave it a rub with my cotton shirt, its pretty much all roughed up and feels lame while driving has heaps of other cuts in it,

This is a pretty common thing to do so you shouldn't have any problems. It might not be cheap though! I had a saddler do my steering wheel in the past on my Celica. They were next door to my work so I got a decent price since I helped them out on the fork lift regularly.

An upholsterer will definitely be able to help you out.
