Sam, our new sponsor at Currans Automotive in Auburn has announced he would like to host a BBQ at their premises.
The Blurb: Currans is one of the select few repair shops in Sydney who are officially approved by Lexus. They also do repairs for Mercedes and BMW. Sam who runs the workshop is involved with the Concours D'Elegance, the worldwide body that judges car 'perfection'. Not only is he a huge Lexus fan, but he has also recently set up a beauty salon for cars next door to the workshop. On the day, members will be shown all the ins and outs of car cleanliness - washing, waxing, claying etc. There will be also be a BBQ, and then a cruise afterwards if anyone is willing. Sam will also give us a tour of the premises, and you can usually see plenty of bent Lexus in various states of repair. The Date: Subsequent to confirmation from Sam, this event will take place on Saturday, October 1st. This is the day before the Toymods Show n Shine (which is not far from here, actually) - the idea being that entrants to the Show n Shine can have their cars all sprucced up and ready! The Time: To be confirmed. Probably about 11am. The Location: Corner St Hilliers Rd/Rawson St/Percy St Auburn. Map will follow. Post here if you would like to come along, or would like to know more. -------------------- |

Hey Matt,
I think I know this place. I had an accidental a yr ago. Dont worry, some old guy reverse into my PARK car and crack my front bumper & dent my bonnet. I remember taking my car there to get fix. They did a good job in detailing it but in painting wise NOT Happy Jane. After a few months. The quality was poor. I'm sure it the same place as they were recommeded by lexus & there were a few lexus around in the shop. For my personal experience. I wouldnt go there again. So if its the same people. I wont be supporting them. Sorry mate. Attached Image ![]() |

Thanks for sharing Chan. With all due respect though, i find it hard to believe we are talking about the same place. Not only is Sam an accredited Meguiars Trainer, but his workshop is approved for the repair of BMW, Mercedes and Lexus, among other marques. Their quality of work is perfect, i have seen many examples come out of Currans in the times i have visted their recently, all an excellent standard. Sam has very high standards - he is also an accredited judge of Concour events.
After our meeting there on Saurday, we have decided that this event will be held mid to late November, with another club to be announced. We are targeting 40-50 people in total. For those of you who have seen Glen (RS200 Glen!) from Toyota's work, you will understand when i say that Currans is as good, if not better. Glen stopped over on the weekend, and was very impressed by the place and by the quality of the work. In the meantime, there will be a detailing session there THIS Saturday exclusively for those who are entering the Toymods show and shine on Sunday. -------------------- |

Just for the record - this day was awesome, with Sam allowing us full use of his washing and polishing facilities and products, as well as his expertise to show us all how it was done. This guy and his workshop will potentially be a big part of our club in the future.
