Welcome to the Ministry of Magic. We are the governmental body of the Wizarding United Kingdom. Our job is to oversee all happenings within our world and keep them secret and safe.
Under the firm hand of the Minister of Magic this strict bureaucracy has ruled for thousands of years and kept peace in the Wizarding World to the best of its ability.

Level Eleven: Department of Mis-Use of Muggle Artifacts This level's main purpose is to regulate the use of magic on Muggle objects and try to keep items that have been bewitched away from Muggles. With just a little bit of magic, the tiny little closet of an office transformed into what now is probably the best modern muggle looking office around.

Level Twelve: Department of Magical Education The International Education Council was founded several years back to connect all wizarding schools in the world under one umbrella. The initial idea was to offer a place to help standardize wizarding education. The IEC floundered with several ineffective leaders. The elders recently sought the help of a longtime veteran in education, Chauncey Clemenceau. Thus begins the Department of Magical Education or DME for short. The Leaky Cauldron Built by Daisy Dodderidge around 1500 "to serve as a gateway between the non-wizarding world and Diagon Alley", the Leaky Cauldron has remained a famous and popular place for five hundred years. Located not in Diagon Alley proper but on the outside, on Charing Cross Road in the heart of London, the pub is "tiny" and "grubby-looking," sandwhiched between a book shop and a record shop where passing Muggles don't seem to be able to see it. Today, the shop is owned and run by a toothless old man named Tom.

Diagon Alley Tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron in London ("Three up...two across...") will reveal an archway which is a portal into Diagon Alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. It is unquestionably the hub of commerce in the British wizarding world, with virtually every wizarding business stationed there. Consequently, the demand for space here is steep, and rent costs "loads of Galleons"

Gringotts Wizarding Bank Partway down Diagon Alley, near its intersection with Knockturn Alley, stands an imposing snow-white marble building: Gringotts Wizarding Bank. "Towering over the other shops", it is the place where British witches and wizards store their money and other valuables, in vaults miles below ground. The vaults are heavily guarded - as Hagrid says, "yeh'd be mad teh try an' rob it"

Knockturn Alley Just around the corner from Diagon Alley lies a dark, twisting alleyway devoted to the Dark Arts: Knockturn Alley. It's a place that the Weasley children are not allowed in, and with good reason; not only are the wares sold their a bit dodgy, but the wizards hanging around behave fairly suspiciously as well. From the shops and the street vendors one can purchase, among other things, shrunken heads, poisonous candles, human-looking fingernails, and Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent
